If warranty expires, they don't offer an option to buy battery, nor pay for them to replace, Nor a repair...they offer u a crappy discount to buy another new device from them...
I owned 2 generations of this device and the batteries are terrible. At room temperature, you'll get 15-30 minutes max. Step outside into the cold and you'll be lucky to get a few minutes. You have to run a cord from a portable USB battery.
Total junk in my opinion. Will not buy another. The should have stole a little power from the phone IMO or coded for voltage loss better.
That being said, I absolutely love having a thermal camera for residential insulation. You can tighten the place up quickly, find missing insulation and add more where most necessary.

Thanks for heads up probably worried we'll make our own model if we get inside and see what little tech there is.

Sorry, there are one or two models u can buy the battery from like ebay...mine, the flir one, I had to literally break apart to open, and the specific model # of the battery is no longer sold.
Really can't understand why this tech is so insanely expensive. I guess because it's a niche product, there's no real competition to drive prices down. Incredible what $179 can buy you instead of this.

I need to buy it to see if there are multiple people in the room. Worth.

There are handful alternatives, some with higher resolution, look around

I bought it to identify leaks in the drafty house which I could weather-seal. It works well for this and the iOS app is fast and saves images to the iPhone. It also surprised me by identifying where HVAC ducts were behind drywall. If there's better and cheaper products for the iOS I can't find them.

80x60 resolution…lol. All you're going to get for thermal images are red blobs on the screen. Last time a Flir camera deal was posted, someone recommended an alternative, the Topdon tc001 which has 256x192 resolution. I bought that one instead. Sellers on ebay are selling it for around $230 but some of them you can submit Best Offer to. Try to get them down to around $180-200. It's USB-C only though, but you're going to get a much better thermal camera than this Flir.

$12 extra for that much more resolution made it an easy choice for me. Thanks for the suggestion!
