Really can't understand why this tech is so insanely expensive. I guess because it's a niche product, there's no real competition to drive prices down. Incredible what $179 can buy you instead of this.
Believe it or not, the imaging sensors and stack for thermal cameras are actually really expensive to produce.

These low end "consumer" models are the cheap ones. Professional thermal cameras that have decent resolution (640x480 and up) are $10k+ (aka the pictures you seen of thermal imaging from movies like The Predator)

All that said, these Flir models are trash.

If warranty expires, they don't offer an option to buy battery, nor pay for them to replace, Nor a repair...they offer u a crappy discount to buy another new device from them...

Make you buy with Amex card, they extend warranty 1 year. I have used it several times.

As using one pro and previous owned this one, i would recommend to skip this and wait own for pro version deal about less than $100 more. it reads surface temperatures so the resolution matters. the difference is between details either 10ft-15ft to surface or any further than 30ft. but also make sure it is compatible to your devices because it is universal for iOS but picky for android version since mostly Samsung get supported.

*edit: Overall, the best use case is you can take a form of pictures on mobile devices and share it to the digital paperwork easily to get action done on the project than just pointing thermal read around.

and mine is FLIR ONE PRO and not the LT version

I wish Apple will take it as a challenge and introduce this feature to mobiles in near future.

80x60 resolution…lol. All you're going to get for thermal images are red blobs on the screen. Last time a Flir camera deal was posted, someone recommended an alternative, the Topdon tc001 which has 256x192 resolution. I bought that one instead. Sellers on ebay are selling it for around $230 but some of them you can submit Best Offer to. Try to get them down to around $180-200. It's USB-C only though, but you're going to get a much better thermal camera than this Flir.
I did the same and opted for the topdon due to the increased resolution. waiting for my order as it's currently backordered on the topdon USA website. but the price on there is currently $195.50

I really wanted to like this, but it's just too blurry for the price. The app is decent if it works for your device, but way too many reports of no connections and bugs on the Android app store. Check compatibility before you buy.
There are way sharper devices on Amazon with varying features, live image vs still capture vs video capture vs 8x the resolution of this thing. All with much, much better battery life.
There are still some Cyber Week deals: https://www.amazon.com/HIKMICRO-R...08X6KHMRS/

I used my usb c Flir for a few years on multiple home projects but recently switched to an iPhone. Can I use my usb-c Flir on my new iPhone with an adapter or it needs to be an iPhone version? I don't mind to upgrade my iPad to Pro if it will work on it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any informative feedback!

They wouldn't be the first. I remember CAT phones had it as a feature.

Price seems great. But is it lacking a regular camera?
I like when you can combine both or use the outlines of the normal camera.

A Topdon tc001 has been mentioned a couple of times so far in this thread. I'll probably be looking into that myself tonight after work.
