Air Caraibes and French Bee Airlines via Expedia have round trip airfares travelling from San Francisco (SFO) to Tahiti French Polynesia (PPT) for $589, nonstop! On Air Caraibes, you're allowed a personal item, a carry-on bag and 1st checked bag for free. On French Bee, your fare is basic that only allow a personal item and a carry-on bag for free.

Has anyone flown with these airlines in the past? Care to share your experiences? French Bee looks like a hot mess based on reviews. Air Caraibes isn't far behind.

I don't have any comment on the airlines, but if you do go, make sure you don't spend a bunch of time in Papeete. Moorea is super close and more remote and of course, Bora Bora -which is expensive- but worth it.

on moorea, I did a swim the whales excursion and swim with sharks deal - super fun.

why is SD allowing self-promotions that are not as cheap? booking directly with the airlines is $535.
i understand the need to make money but at the expense of your community?

Pretty much every airline deal posted here with Expedia can be matched or cheaper booking directly with airline. I always book directly with airline. Of course I wouldn't touch these small airlines to go to a place like Tahiti. The hotels are too pricey to trust an airline cancelation.

Flew from SFO to PPT on French Bee in March 2022. Had no problems. Flew back on United due to flight schedule working better for us.

Agree about getting to Moorea and not hanging around near PPT, it's very nice. We also went to Bora Bora and it is stunning.

Food and drink is very expensive.

If we went back we would go to some of the other islands as they look fantastic as well.

the terrible thing is that even if people report these post as self-promotion, SD won't take it down or ban the user like others.

Wife and I took this flight and went to Moorea for almost all of it.

It's fine but French Bee economy seats are insanely small. I didn't know seats could even BE that small.

I have seen a lot of complaints about Expedia from SD members. I think SD should include a disclaimer (like other websites) when they receive commission from the company they are promoting. It is nothing wrong with this type of deal posting as long as it does not mislead the members as a slickdeals front page item. They should know that slickdeals mentality is buy first and ask question later if it is front page laugh out loud
