I feel ya. I bought one for me and one for my dad, even though neither of us have a use case for it, and he doesn't even know he's getting one.

I hope you will do your civic duty, by running for office and drafting some legislation to move us at least an inch closer to the metric system

I took my daughter in for her yearly checkup and they gave me her weight and height in metric units without me even asking. The entire hospital had switched to metric.

Half of my tools in my shop are all metric. Look at any nutritional label and tell me how many imperial units you see (it's all grams and mg). Medicine is also measured out exclusively in metric. Hell, even soda comes in metric containers.

The idea that the US doesn't know metric and doesn't use metric is wrong and ignorant. Americans already know metric and they use it every day.

I started off doing woodworking in imperial units, but since I switched to metric I have noticed my cuts are more accurate and I make fewer mistakes. I will never go back.

Would that be South, Central, or North Americans ?
