Good deal, just FYI it is not compatible with Windows 11 with the 6500 processor.

Also TPM 1.2. If it still works you can disable the CPU and TPM check and install Windows 11 from disc or USB drive.

Throw a M.2 or SATA SSD in and it's pretty snappy. No built-in wireless though.

Wish it was 16gb of Ram. I have a few of these and they work well with SSD and greater then 12GB of Ram.

Anyone have a source for cheap Ram Please?

Only place I've ever been able to get RAM for cheap was on Craigslist or maybe FB marketplace. I got a friend some DDR3 from Micro Center though. I actually went to go check what brand it was, but I guess they don't sell it anymore. It was good RAM and like $60 for two 8gb sticks.



As for this deal, this computer isn't officially compatible with Windows 11. I always bought the off lease Dell optiplex 3020s with the i5 3470 and threw SSDs in them. Google says the 6500 is only 10% faster than the 3470, and I see the 3470s go for $50 or less now with no hard drives.

Just FYI, look ''em up on subreddit- homelabsales

They go cheaper than this. I have purchased a few from folks on that subreddit and haven't had a single issue. I only transact through PayPal or meet in person at a public place

Go to eBay and get used desktop ram. I see ram as low as $17.99 for 2x8GB DDR3 desktop ram. Item number 224440224081

This Ram is server ram and does not work in this optiplex. You need unbuffered, non ECC sticks.

It looks like this has (2) displayports and (1) HDMI. I think these dp's would be able to do 4k@60hz?
