I bought a black Friday deal Samsung fridge last year from Costco. Stainless steel with a big tablet looking screen up front. It looks awesome and the screen works great, however the fridge has been nothing but problems. A repair tech came out and had to fix it. It still is not working good. I would not buy another LG or Samsung fridge again
We love ours as that flexzone came in super handy for Thanksgiving. The water pitcher has to be one of the best ideas yet that I've seen on a fridge. and there is a deal on Samsung's site where you can get free panels until next year when you purchase one. I combined that panel credit with the black friday sale so I have 3 sets of panels. Be warned they take up much more room storing them than I thought
I have Samsung appliances in my kitchen and bought them 2 years ago due to similar black Friday deals. So far so good but I am a little nervous. The general consensus is that the Korean manufacturers (Samsung and LG) break way more often than the other brands.
Yep. My 18 year old Kenmore Fridge is still going strong with no issues. I have 3 friends/family who have all had to replace their Samsungs after only a few years. The ice makers are notoriously awful.
These refrigerators have not been able to engineered properly. The flaws are not fixed. There are 100,000s of people who are experiencing this every day. Go ahead and roll the dice, just remember that when your family gets food poisoning, your kitchen floods or catches fire that you got a "great deal".
100,000s where? I see some complaints on ice makers (top section). These don't have top ice makers. By the way I had the same issues with Fridgidair and Electrolux top section ice maker freezing up. There are some comments about inconsistent temperatures, but not quite the 100,000 you mention.
Though many of Samsung's lower tier options have had issues, this model is in a completely different class. Don't write it off just yet. Samsung bought Dacor, a high-end appliance company known for quality refrigerators, in 2016 and have been trying to improve their own brand image ever since.
I get the disdain for their stuff. I had a terrible washer and dryer set from Samsung. However, this isn't one of those products. This is an excellent refrigerator that far outclasses their entry-level stuff.
Compare the interior layout, water pitcher, and compartments to the highly rated Decor models and you'll see what I mean. Here's a nearly identical model for reference and the same goes for all of their normally $3K and up refrigerators.
Bought 2 of these for my kitchen over a year ago. They are great and I like the minimalist design. Even at the 3.3k price point each I thought they were worth it.

how did you end up with 3 sets of panels? I bought this one during black Friday but only got 2 sets, one came with the fridge and the other set was through the rebate

Bought a LG fridge 5.5 years ago. I didn't have 1 issues at all until 2 months ago. Turns out my compressor went out.
LG has a 10 year warranty on major parts and the compressor was one of them.
Had a repair company come out and repair it for 600.00. That was the cost of labor and refilling the coolant. The actual part was free under warranty.
I will happily buy another LG fridge when the time comes.
Maybe I'm in the minority?
From what I've seen, a lot of fridges have issues. They just don't make them like they use to.
I have a 12 year old electrolux that need the main board replaced and had leaky freezer issues. Repaired it for $600 earlier this year and now the fridge is too cold. Just going to roll the dice with Samsung instead of fixing again.

I always see people saying something along the lines of "my 20 year old Kenmore fridge is still working...[insert Korean brand fridge here] would die in 2 months!"
Except...newer Kenmore (or any other US based company) fridges have all probably taken reliability hits as the companies adjust their manufacturing processes and designs to increase profit. Most likely you will be rolling the dice with any newer appliance, even the extremely high end ones. Buy the extended warranty, or see if they are covered by your home warranty (our old washer and dryer were at our previous house).
I'm also not seeing the OP's price on the full-depth fridge...only the counter--depth.

EPP for me on the Matte Black Steel color shows up even slicker at $1,839.20 for both Counter and Full Depths. There's also an option for Open Box Pricing that drops it to $1,586.31. Free install and only $15 to haul away my old one... Super tempting!

You got a so much courage to spend $600 on 12 old fridge.

Maybe free after discounts.
