Gosh all this 8!tch!ng about Samsung appliances. People don't realize that there is not a single brand that does not fail and if you go searching for " refrigerator issues" you will find tons and tons of pages and websites with people complaining about failures.
This is a good example of confirmation bias at play.

Yep. My 18 year old Kenmore Fridge is still going strong with no issues. I have 3 friends/family who have all had to replace their Samsungs after only a few years. The ice makers are notoriously awful.
Did you know that Kenmore doesn't make appliances? Some of Kenmore appliances are made by LG. So look into it and see if yours was made by LG or Whirlpool. I know mind-blowing info. 😆 🤣 😂
I always see people saying something along the lines of "my 20 year old Kenmore fridge is still working...[insert Korean brand fridge here] would die in 2 months!"
Except...newer Kenmore (or any other US based company) fridges have all probably taken reliability hits as the companies adjust their manufacturing processes and designs to increase profit. Most likely you will be rolling the dice with any newer appliance, even the extremely high end ones. Buy the extended warranty, or see if they are covered by your home warranty (our old washer and dryer were at our previous house).
I'm also not seeing the OP's price on the full-depth fridge...only the counter--depth.
Kenmore doesn't make appliances. Whirlpool and LG used to make them. Now they have a Chinese manufacturers making them.
Friends don't let friends buy Samsung appliances, especially fridges. Ask any appliance repair person.
I got 4 appliances the Fridge and Stove are at its last leg after 3 Years. Somehow my washer and dryer (most abused thing) still work just fine. I agree though. I will never go back
Samsung customer service is really really bad…we ordered a bespoke fridge from Samsung and they ship through a third party vendor and the refrigerator never arrived even after 4months and we always had to call and ask for status…very irresponsible company
The technology in fridge is advanced only question is its longevity and customer service during warranty is questionable it seems so please make sure you buy from best buy atleast and take their total tech package or warranty so that best buy will be responsible if samsung doesn't

That is interesting. The Yale numbers are based on their actual repair data from their shop. I think they are one of the largest if not the largest appliance shop in Boston. It is hard not to take their numbers as accurate seeing as they are the actual repair shop.
CR numbers are based on customer surveys about their experiences. That could be skewed to some degree but I doubt it changes the number more than 15%.
Right. I don't doubt either organization's numbers for what they are, and they are helpful in considering on a brand or model. It's just that neither survey meets the requirements to be called scientific. They are just anecdotal. Yale, based on one video I watched, said its numbers are devised from the previous years sales/service calls. So there are a lot of missing "control" factors there. CR's #s come from members so they are self-selected with all the bias that comes from that.

I have a samsung fridge and it's been ok. It's probably eight years old, still works. The plasticy bits on the door that hold heavier objects have all broke. It's heavily used so its meh.The wide drawer on the bottom is constantly off track and has to be completely removed and installed again or you can't close the fridge. It's pretty frustrating. Dunno, I'd buy another brand.
We bought one with the drawer and we love this thing. Normally have buyers remorse after such large purchases but the beverage center is game changing for our fast moving family. Being able to fill up a water bottle in seconds with the auto refilling jug and still having the option for self fill is the best feature.
I will say we got the one with the screen and find it particularly useless. We have fun leaving notes on it and put some pictures on it but I'd skip it if we were to get another

Yep they have the worst customer service. Ordered in November and still don't have my refrigerator. The freight company finally has it and I will get it this Saturday March 11. I've been communicating with customer service numerous times since January. Nothing but canned responses. I did get a $100 voucher and 200 off the price though. I was charged on my credit card mid December. I actually did a credit charge back with Chase and got refunded in February, but I'm finally getting it so I guess it was worth the hassle.
If anyone near the Boston area may want this Samsung 4-Door Flex unit in open box condition, there is a Best Buy there that has this for about 600. I have it on hold but may not need it. Just get in touch....
