This is a very useful item, especially for $19. I have one in our home entertainment area to keep an eye on the time. I turned off all the smart speaker functionality. The clock is bright and easy to read, and it's nice that it shows the outside temperature too. It's nice how it keeps the exact time as well.

I bought a few auto clocks for places around my house...over time they drift. I'm going to be slowly replacing them with smart clocks because like you said, the exact time is very nice. All of my other Alexa devices with clocks on them and our cell phones have the exact same time while my other clocks are 2 to 3 minutes off.

How's the sound, response time, comprehension compared to something like a 3rd gen dot? Those things are really pissing me the fark off

Same price w/ free shipping via 3rd party seller @Walmart with Walmart return policy in case it winds up not being for you.

p.s. I was also offered a "sweet" 10% cb offer with the Walmart purchase.

From the website:
Perfect for your nightstand
When it's dark in your bedroom, our auto-dim display darkens to cut back light coming from the screen. You can even turn off the screen with the Alexa app. If you share a room or bed, the soft buttons on top let you control your device without disturbing others with your voice. And when it's time to wake up, tap the top to dismiss the alarm or snooze.

I'd never put a Lenovo product on my network.

"As of 2014, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, owns 11.7% of Lenovo and IBM owns 37.8%."

The Chinese Academy of Sciences is a pure research entity in China, owned by the government.

I've read that the automatic dimmer can get too dim in a dark room. I'm hoping that isn't the case.

Can Alexa start a radio station at a certain time when you wake up? Been looking for a replacement but prefer having live radio.

Got one as a Christmas gift for a friend. Honestly if it lasts a year then that's worth the $20. Not much of a loss.
