If you're only needing a headphone for music and calls, keep the XM4s for be better ANC. If you need something more versatile (Gaming, conferencing, DAC with audio mixer and audio volume balancer, a hot swappable battery, line in/out, quickly switching between two USB sources, simultaneous Bluetooth and USB audio sources playing at once), go with these.

Side note, get the cooling gel ear pads linked below for a huge comfort upgrade. These also make the ANC nub in the ear cups no longer make contact with your ears.

This is the best price we've seen for this since Amazon/Best Buy/Gamestop had it for $250 outright in October.

So I realize that these are well reviewed and gaming headsets are purchased for their convenience more than anything, but I don't play that many multiplayer games and already have the sennheiser momentum 4s. While I am always tempted due to the convenience that these headsets provide, you aren't going to get as good of sound quality as with high end anc headphones... So if you're like me and mostly use headphones for music first, then calls/gaming... You may want to consider picking up the momentum 4s and then the BT-W4 (aptx adaptive adapter) and a lav mic for about $50. Yes, not nearly as convenient as an all in one headset but it'll probably sound better for the same amount of money.

I have the Alienware AW988 that I got a few years but have never enjoyed the comfort (I wear glasses) and they give me a headache after 30-45min. So my 2 questions are:
1. What's the comfort of these, especially for glasses wearers.
2. Do these show up as their own sound device in Windows?

I currently play music over speakers through the winter onboard sound card in the PC and then my game sounds through the headset using it's built-in soundcard, which I can control the volume straight through the headset. I'm looking for that exact kind of setup.

Just as a friendly FYI if you are looking to buy 2 of these headsets like I did:

I ordered 2 headsets last week on dell @ $350 each with the standard $75 eGC per unit promocode last week to give back $150 in gift card(still running). On top of that, I have the AMEX offer for $120 credit back for 1 time purchase over $600 so netting back $270.

Link to the dell $75 promotion headset: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/a...8443/audio

----------

If you have the AMEX offer for $40 back on $200 purchase and only need one of these headsets and snag the OPlink for $100 promotion, you come out ahead $5 than my scenario above.

I use the Xbox input for my PC and it works with no problem. I don't know why there would be an issue using the USB input for PS5 and Xbox input for PC.
There wouldn't be a problem. Just that the XBox port outputs at 16bits. So if someone doesn't plan to get an XBox, and needs to have it connected with the PS5 and PC, might as well go with the PS5 version. Also, if you connect the PC to the XBox input I believe the new Steelseries Sonar software cannot see the headset.

That being said, I doubt most people would be able to tell the difference between 16-bit output and 24-bit output. When using it on my Xbox vs PS5 I can't tell any obvious difference in fidelity. Of course I'm not comparing side by side on same content. Just that Xbox audio output doesn't seem obviously lacking. I'm sure an audiophile might be able to tell the difference, but for normal gaming it's fine.

I agree that for versatility the Xbox version is the one to get. But for specific use cases the PS5 version might be better.

That's true that you are limited to 16-bit through the Xbox input, but it would be hard to believe someone could tell a discernable quality difference between 16-bit (CD quality audio) and 24-bit on a wireless headset. The headset initially needs to be setup using USB with the GG software in order to unlock the Nova Pro specific features, e.g., Clearcast A.I., but after that's configured you can connect with the Xbox port and those features can be used (along with any other non-Steelseries audio or recording hardware that I've tested).

I don't own a console for either PS5 or Xbox and got it because I have a Mac and Windows PC.

I can say that the Xbox port does work for the Windows PC and you can customize the EQ set with the Sonar Software on the PC. With the USB port, that's connected to my Mac because there's no Sonar Software support for my Mac.

I also have Bluetooth connected to my phone, so it's useful to blend both my Windows or Mac with my phone audio. You can only use one USB port at a time, I would need to switch back and forth between Windows and Mac but the phone will also stay connected no matter what.

I'm debating between this and the Sony Pulse 3Ds, which can be had from Walmart right now for 59 shipped. I do have the AMEX 40 off deal, so I can potentially shave this down to 350-100GC -40 = 210 ?

So 210 vs 60, is the sound quality leaps better ?

I'm hearing the Pulse 3Ds are cheaply made, get uncomfortable. But love the aesthstics on the white Pulses. Mainly using this purely for PS5 gaming and the 3D audio features in games like Returnal/GOW. I already have Sony WH-XM4's for general use/music.

Im also considering the Sony Inzone H9's which are hear are pretty amazing too, on sale for 279

I got the wired versions for 250 when they first released. There really good headphones but if your gaming and don't dare about wires then I'd definitely get the wired ones. It's not ones that plug into ur headset.. the wired have a dac that plugs into your ps5 or PC or whatever and then goes directly into ur headphones. I will say.. for the money you spend they don't look like a premium headset. But they sound really damn good and my mic is clear as day. Plus all the extras.

Wow it even has an active noise cancellation?? Looks like I might have to return the Sony WH-1000XM4 I ordered from Amazon for $200.

The only downside is the giftcard...dunno what else to buy at the freaking Dell website laugh out loud
The XM4 definitely has better ANC.

Get the Sony H7. I have it for ps5 and it is great and way better battery life than 3d pulse. It's also been on sale a lot lately for $148.

What am I to do with a Dell gift card.

I've been eyeing this headset since a few hours after the $250 sale ended...
