I'm not familiar with ASICS either but those look like good walking shoes. I actually ordered the contend 6 as they were a bit cheaper. The excite 8 is another one to consider for walking.

Once you receive the second email you shouldn't have to worry about it getting cancelled.

I received my contend 6 today, they are light and have nice cushioning in the heel. The mesh is thin as I had guessed from the photos so they should be great for walking in the summer. From the reviews several folks recommended going 1/2 size up which I did. I'm used to wearing Skechers as my walking sneakers and in comparison these shoes are more narrow, and I'm glad I went 1/2 size up. They actually still feel a bit tight at the sides but this should change after they break in. But on the otherhand I feel like my feet have better support now, and the better cushioning is also welcome. I don't think I'll be going back to Skechers, I'll be wearing my ASICS in the summer and Merrells in the winter.
