Key Features:
  • Dimensions: 43" x 10.5" x 19"
  • Redesigned Tractrix Horn utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth to further improve high-frequency response and extension, while enhancing imaging and dynamics. The compressed molded rubber construction adds high frequency damping to minimize distortion and improve detail. This creates the cleanest, most natural sound possible.

  • Spun Copper Cerametallic Woofers represent the pinnacle of Klipsch driver design, maintaining exceptional rigidity and lightweight construction, for minimal cone breakup and distortion. When paired with the Tractrix Horn-loaded LTS tweeter, it provides speaker efficiency highest in its class.
  • Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the Reference Premiere ports allows for the most efficient, fastest air transfer from the cabinet - for the cleanest, most powerful low frequency response on the market.
  • MDF Cabinet With Real Wood Veneer Finish

If you are fully new to this, just a heads up - you will see many conflicting opinions on any speaker system because people have a different sound preferences. You will also come across many snobbish posts looking down on Klipsch saying something it is crap compared to X or Y brand. Many a times, what these folks conveniently forget is that, yes, overall, those brands could be much better than Klipsch, but they also cost a ton. It is like PC gamers with a $4k rig telling looking down on XBox players! My whole point being, audio systems follows the law of diminishing returns beyond a point. If you are fine with something that overall is pretty great value, nothing comes close to the Klipsch RP series when on a deal. However, if you are fine with putting away several thousands more, then definitely do a much of research and auditioning (at big box stores like Best Buy) before deciding on which ones to go with. Auditioning speakers is still good in any case as you may suddenly realize you prefer one specific brand over the others.

You can refer some guides like https://www.svsound.com/blogs/spe...-placement or https://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-setup (audioholics is pretty great overall for guidance - check out their youtube videos as well) to start with. One thing to note is - most of the modern day Home Theatre Receivers have their own proprietary room audio calibration software - YPAO for Yamaha, Audyssey/Audyssey XT32 for Denon/Marantz etc. Depending on where you place the speakers, and where you intend to sit, the calibration software will optimize the audio for your listening position. You can then fine tune it to your liking. So - don't worry too much about the room layout if it is not rectangular. The height of your room helps decide whether you need height speakers or atmos or such. The size of your room helps decide how many channels/speakers you need to have a good audio experience.

This is going to be a fun journey for you. Good luck!
This is a really good deal.
It is an older model but honestly the nex gen, the RP-8000fa was a slight technical downgrade(depending your view)(though still more than decent - see the Audioholics view of the non atmos version https://www.audioholics.com/tower...conclusion ).
The brand new model(Rp-8060faII $3k a pair) is indeed an upgrade over this RP-280FA but costs a bundle more and the real wood veneer on these will be an asset to many folks around.

Here is an old review of the RP-280FA by Brent Butterworth who is a measurement forward reviewer, now contributes often to the Wirecutter and is IMHO pretty trust worthy historically.
https://hometheaterreview.com/kli...-reviewed/ His comparison set in the review is a pair of REVEL towers which matters to some.
For gods sake, not walnut again !

Might have to pull the trigger on these. I was waiting for the RP 5.1 deal that included these to come back around, but I already have an RP center speaker, and a couple rears …though they're cherry RPs lol

Seems like a good deal...I believe these are the older release prior to the RF-8000 series.

I have these speakers, got them around the same price about 2 years ago. They are phenomenal! Large and heavy so make sure you have the room for them. I painted mine white which was relatively easy and they look amazing.

Sorry I meant the 8060FA-II is an upgrade, which currently is $3k a pair though obviously will get the Klipsch discount treatment at some point..
The version 1, regular 8060FA is not really any sort of upgrade. It has slightly different tweeter but reuses the crossover from the 280FA which was designed for the speaker to be at a slant as the 280FA was on a slanted base. This throws the design off a bit. The cabinet of the 280FA is larger and tuned differently as well. Not a big deal but it makes me think(not know for sure) the 280FA would actually measure better and be more useful in a large space. (while the new version might work better in a medium space, bass frequency wise due to how they are tuned)

Hmm, looks like I should have just bought these speakers as a set last year: https://slickdeals.net/f/15082183-klipsch-reference-premiere-speakers-2x-rp-8060fa-2x-rp-600m-rp-504...

I have the 504C center and now it looks like I could have just about bought the full set for just the current price of the fronts!
