I've been looking at pellet grills, saw this one today, thought it looked ok. I tried various searches, didn't see it posted, sorry if it was.

It's the usual Menards credit rebate, which I've always had luck with, gotten every single one.

Pay $299.99 plus tax, get the $100 merchandise credit in the mail. I didn't verify, but shipping was expensive last time I checked something like this, so I put in store. Thought the price before rebate was "ok" anyway, compared to current pricing.

Edit: added features from page
"Total cooking area: 706 sq in.
Advance digital control system with temperature of 180-450°
8-in-1 cooking capabilities include: roast, grill, sear, BBQ, braise, bake, smoke, and char-grill
24 lb hopper capacity
Comes with 2 meat probes for the perfect cook
Pellet view windows
Pellet clean out feature
3-year warranty
4 wheels (2 locking) for easy maneuvering
Includes a cover for the grill"

$199 after rebate. I don't think you'll find anything better at that price.

Don't know if it's worth mentioning, but I got a similar model to this a couple of weeks ago that was on sale at rural king and I can't keep the thing within temperature for nothing.

I thought so. I know some people have issues with rebates, especially store credit, so I tried to word it as best as possible. I can easily find stuff to spend it on in Menards, so it's not an issue with me.

I've been looking a while, had a few "almosts" in there. Had the Cuisinart in my cart last night, but thought I'd wait to check Menards this morning. I thought smaller would be good enough for a single person, and MAYBE use a little less pellets. But, I ended up ordering this one instead. I'll pick it up in a few days (Menards is 75 miles away, closest "big store" town, Walmart too).

I glanced reviews before I posted (and have read a few reviews for the brand in general for a while), overall looked "ok" to me, like 4.5 on Amazon I think (model ending in C on Amazon, but on Zgrills site it has that model listed as ending in F too in the page title, so it MIGHT be the same...). Saw complaints about arriving damaged. But didn't notice a trend of severe issues, at first glance anyway. Guess I'll find out in a few days....

200 after rebate pretty impressive that's clearance pricing. $73 for shipping for me and that's still tempting.

I've had this model for a few months (sale earlier this year). On sale it is a good entry level pellet grill. I had to add a gasket to the lid (better seal) and replaced the cheap plastic temp probe grommet with a rubber one. After about $25 in upgrades it holds a steady temp and adding/removing temp probes is much easier.

I would buy this one for my brother in law if the shipping wasn't so high to where we live.

I just got this tonight. Would you be able to post or DM me the links to both of these?

As a test only, empty chips, microwave a new batch (several mins, get them hot near burnt) enough to operate grill for 30 mins. I was able to use this trick to make sure it wasn't damp pellets. I increased the temps of my Traeger over 100 degrees! The chips are very susceptible to absorbing moisture. Just because they are new doesn't mean they haven't been exposed to moisture in storage. They do need to be fresh.

There's a zgrills FB group. I'd suggest joining and post your issues. They are very helpful.
Are you in a cold weather climate? Mine keeps excellent temp control once I used Lavalock on the lid and bought a thermal blanket.

Storm coming so I got the trip out of the way earlier and picked it up. Went together easy. No damage, things fit well.

Did the initial 45 minute run on high, bit longer. It went up to 460 for a couple minutes, then did 450 pretty much steady for over 30 minutes. A breeze went through the shop and it dropped to 435 for a couple minutes but went right back up and stayed within 5 degrees (it's set up in my machine shed). Lid gasket should help, but it fits well, considering it has nothing. Warm day, 50 degrees today. The way things are looking I might not get around to actually using it for a few days, maybe.

Only one complaint, and it's not much of one. It had two large stickers with "why use a pellet grill" basically (roughly around or bigger than 8.5x11 or so). One on the hopper lid, that mostly came off. The one inside the main lid didn't. It wouldn't come off in one piece, many small ones, and left all the glue behind. Tough glue. I had Goof Off here, took quite a while to get most of that off. There was another similar paper zip tied to the grate too. Don't know why it had all that unless it was supposed to be a display, kinda pointless on a purchased one.

Overall, having never owned one, it looks good to me.

Their shipping rates are interesting, even for being relatively close to their stores. I just checked a Pit Boss 1600, "Shipping Charges: $273.84", vs. about $75 or so for this one. Before this, another model that I would have gotten on sale (glad I didn't), smaller and cheaper looking, ended up about net $240 purchase, plus a similar $250ish shipping charge, and wasn't available to get at (or to) "my" store. Inventory for this one in a handful of stores within about 180 mile radius shows at least 4 in stock, up to 16, so they have a supply at least.

Final (use) report unless asked a question. I've used it twice, plus left it running for testing. Device said starting at 30 degrees one time, 35 the other in my shop. Went to 450 on the first use after a while of smoke, it held that consistently, never varying more than 5 degrees. Second time, 375, it overshot by 20 degrees when getting it to temp, but within less than 10 minutes, got it down and held it right at that for about 40 minutes. I was working in the shop so I was looking at it often.

Considering no thermal blanket or sealing, this cold, as long as it keeps it up, it's doing ok. Don't think I'll probably try it with the below zero temps coming though, at least without insulating it....
