I love my Wyze cameras. Are they perfect? No. Are they perfect for their price? Yes.
Think of this way: what would deter someone more, having one $200 camera on the roof of their home? Or having 7 of these suckers on the roof, wall, lawn, gate, etc. plastered everywhere. The deterrance of having 20 Wyze cameras visible around your front yard is much more significant than like...3.

And if someone's not dettered by 20 cameras plastered around your home like a crazy person, you pissed off the wrong drug syndicate or illegal gambling operation lol.
I've had these for a year. Love them. Very easy to use and app is awesome. Nighttime video is unbelievable and color. Just found out about the light socket usb attachment so no more long cords lol. Definitely a great deal. Just buy a big sd card and I can go back 5 days or more in recorded video.

You could always load up the rtsp firmware on each cam to view each camera's stream directly without an app. If it doesn't work out, you can flash back to the default firmware and use the Wyze app (or whatever equivalent).
Can you explain further?

Can we overcome the 5 minutes wait with rtsp firmware?

Shouldn't affect local recording any differently.

All about rtsp for the Wyze Cam v3 here - https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us...e-Cam-RTSP

Actual location of the rtsp firmware files described here (since Wyze has made it a little more difficult to access) - https://www.reddit.com/r/wyzecam/...n_website/

Edit - forgot to include a guide for flashing back to the original firmware, so here's a link that covers flashing to or from rtsp (basically everything) - https://blinqblinq.com/wyze-v3-get-rtsp/

Any other apps besides the Wyze app would you recommend for notifications? I do have RTSP and currently I can view it through home assistant

Heads up I just spoke to a rep via their iMessage integration (which is incredibly convenient btw).

I was inquiring about my order that was placed on 12/2. Got the status update that it was backordered and today the rep said that they are expecting a restock of this item on 12/18.

Is that supposed to mean just your store restock, or HD in general?

how useful are these without subscription?
They have a dirt cheap name your own price for cam lite subscription. I pay them .50c a month for all my cams. $15 a year for one outside camera to have long server recordings. Cam Plus+

I used wyze app on ios to install it, did say something like you want to apply subscription. I did say yes, but I still don't see it assigned to the cam. Has anyone gotten it to work? I previously had 1 camp plus an annual subscription, which is still assigned to my original wyze
in the app under account->services, I don't see any 3-month subscription
Thanks
