I have this drive in my desktop and the 512GB in a notebook. These are very good (see in-depth reviews at Tom's Hardware). I actually prefer them over Samsung, which I have three. Here's why - plenty fast even for sustained writes, run cooler, uses less battery/energy (more efficient), and the SK Hynix has eco-friendly (but nice) packaging. Samsung packaging is non-biodegradeable petro plastic, lots. Trying to support companies who give a sh*t about life as we know it.
Peace

Edit: I got one at posted price just now. Funny, first it shows $208, but I had it saved in my cart and it said $145xx. Try this link to get sale price. https://www.amazon.com/SK-hynix-I...f0INT&th=1

I used the link here and a direct search on Amazon. Both are showing p31 2tb at $208 for me.

Also seeing P41 2TB at $259. So full prices all around is what I see.

EEK! You scared me. Thought I just bought this from a 3rd party just now. Yes I did, but it's direct from SK Hynix. Not a problem as far as I'm concerned. laugh out loud

Ah good find! It seems to be a slight issue on Amazon's end. This deal is currently $145/2 TB for Prime members only. Otherwise full price. Usually I see a separate Prime price directly on the product page, but it doesn't bother to mention that until it's already added to the cart in my case (cancelled Prime a while ago).

How is this one compared to Samsung 980 Pro? I heard that Samsung has faster speed but can anyone confirm?

I bought "Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB NVMe M.2", and it's on the way. How is this compared to Samsung? I understand both are reputable companies. Thanks.

the 980 pro is WAY faster. People are comparing gen3 drives (what this is, 970, etc) to gen4 drives like the 980 pro or the WD 850. The gen4 drives are generally 50-80% faster.

I have a 2TB 980 pro in the PC I'm typing this on, and a teamdata gen3 drive as well. the 980 pro is nearly twice as fast at reads and writes in benchmarks. Its not gonna be quite that in actual games and stuff but its definitely way faster.

Very similar so I'd generally just get the cheaper one if you really want one or the other. For laptops, the SK Hynix P31 is known to run cool so it's a slightly better option although I've not had issues with Samsung either.
