There have been some bad replies. I just bought these last time and have one in my hand right now. They DO pivot both up and down AND left and right as you described.

Thanks for the answer! Benefit to me, and maybe others, would be if/when hanging the light by the hook from maybe a bar or wire rack for working somewhere besides under a car hood where the magnet could be used....the extra swivel would give the leeway to aim the light exactly where you want/need it if the other swivel doesn't suffice. 👍

I used these lights less than 2 weeks ago outdoors and hung them on tree branches while we did yardwork in the dark. I recall that besides the up and down motion you mention, it did let me pivot left and right too.

I don't recall any left/right swivel, just up and down, but it's easy enough to turn the base left and right.

AND the red handle pulls open so it can be hung. Love these!I ordered & picked up in store last time around, same price. DH has used them a few times as well & he likes them too.

Anybody buys this with another item to get over $35 to get the free shipping and return the other item to Walmart store? It's still a trip to the store even with free ship to store (which Walmart no longer has)
