This kind of trip is highest on my wife's list. My only concern here is personal safety. Is this part of South Africa considered safe? It says there is an hour drive from the airport to the reserve...is it a safe trip? (by safe, I mean personal violence, not COVID protocols or being mauled by a lion).

Second this. The trick is to contact a US booking agency and have them set everything up with what you want and then YOU ASK for the name of the actual tour group who will be doing the tour, etc. Contact them directly. The price is usually 1/4 to 1/3 of the price. It's dirt cheap to go on safari. The US agencies really abuse the ones who can't do their own research.
Each got their own chalet the 2nd night (first night you got a hotel room in a small inn just down the street from the ocean, right where the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet).
3 days, meals included, transport included, wine tasting included, and more. $459 US per person.
