yes. It can work with Sonos
12-06-2022 at 02:33 PM
I'm not sure how? I don't think Sonos support chromecast.
You can use Google assistant if your Sonos speaker supports that however Sonos speaker will show up as DLNA/Airplay compatible device instead of Chromecast
This can group with anything support Chromecast however the reliability may not be the best(e.g. out of sync audio or one of grouped device simply refuse to do anything).

I believe Sonos is in his own Eco system. So I would say no. I have all the Google hubs and Alexa at home and my home theater system is Sonos and there is no way as of now I can connect other speaker/smart hubs at home. You do have the option to use Google or Alexa with your Sonos speaker though.

Yes

Yes but you must upload all pics to google photos. The hub syncs to your google photos account and is setup and configured through the google home app on your phone

There's no subscription required to use this device. It connects to your Google Photos account. Depending on how much space you want in Photos, you might upgrade from a free account to a paid account that gives you more space. All the other apps that are connected to Google Nest Hub are apps like Spotify, YouTube, etc. You can have a free or paid subscriptions to those, but it's not required.

the price is low but the Nest Hub is slow too.

Please have expectation this is not any faster than a 10 year old Nokia.
I think they are trying to to phase this out and replace it with a Pixel Tablet + dock. The driving idea is you might as well put that tablet that's sitting under your sofa to work.

Good deal even if you don't need the light bulb. I think best price on the hub this year has been $50 so this is probably as low as it's gonna get.

I bought one of these at $49 for black Friday and it's the best alarm clock I've ever owned. I'm near-sighted and the numbers are big and bright enough to read when I wake up in the middle of the night. It has home hub functional but too slow to use it as a main hub, but as a secondary or especially as an alarm clock this is a great price.

Wow, seems like a solid deal. Bought just the Hub earlier this year for $50ish. Good digital clock to have on my desk in my room and I stream local sports radio stations through Audacy. And my household is pretty much all Home enabled so it's nice to have control over that, either by voice or by using the smart home menu on the Hub and just manually turning things on and off.

Steal at $39.

I will say that some people warned me about frequent restarts. I have noticed that the Hub will restart around 1-3 AM multiple times a week. No noise is made and it doesn't seem to be an abrupt restart like something crashed. It just shows a shutdown animation, which I'll catch from the side of my eye and it'll restart within 20 seconds and everything will be fine.

Some people use the Hub to play white noise and fall asleep and they'd be interrupted by the restart almost-nightly. So I can't speak to that but it does restart a few times a week but I only notice it post-midnight and before waking up in the morning.

YMMV but bought 2 for $68 using the $10 promo (as seen on other Walmart threads). Promo codes WOWFRESH, PayPal and more.

At this price this thing is a steal. One of the features I never see mentioned is that it basically functions like a Chromecast. This is functioning as a kitchen tv in my house. We stream via our phones using the Xfinity stream app. Been pondering the hub max to get the bigger screen.

I agree. I switched to this Google hub from cheap Echo dots a few months ago. I just put the hub in the junk drawer today, and went back to the Dots. The hub was incredibly slow to respond and glitches out constantly. I tried everything to get it working, from resetting it multiple times, trying different smart bulbs, to changing router settings. The Google Home ecosystem is a mess. I have a few Google Home minis at work, as well, and they constantly need to be rebooted to get working after they bug out. We have to reboot them at least every other day.
