For $64, this is a great deal if you're trying to keep it under $100. Great all arounder headphone for movies, games, and music. The sound is round, warm, bassy, and inoffensive. You can wear this headphone all day. Be warned though, you'll need another cable or adapter as it comes with the big plug and not 35mm one. I can see how some people may think these are boring as they're not flashy or "in your face." I would describe them as cozy.

I have the 6xx, 598, and 560s, as well. Out of all of them, If I just want to watch Netflix and not fuss around or think about my headphones, I tend to go with the 559 actually because of the thumpy bass.

Is this better than HyperX cloud 2? I'm trying to buy a new set of headphones mostly for first person shooter gaming and for watching movies and stuff, and I'm looking to get something that's better, the next step up from the hyperX cloud two's. Recommendations are welcome

Not sure how good the inline mic would be for gaming. U might take a look at the pc37x:

They're only $70 now which is nuts. Keep in mind these are open headphones so noise isolation is practically nonexistent if that's important to you

...and by noise isolation I mean more what YOU can hear of the outside world when you have them on, not necessarily what people IN THE SAME ROOM can hear if that makes sense

Without knowing much about the hyperx headphones, my first guess is these are way better.

I've been gaming with a version of the Sennheiser 55#'s for close to 10 years now, and they're awesome for fps gaming.

The added bonus is they sound really nice for movies and music too. There are better headphones for music and movies, but the sennheisers have that perfect balance of being awesome for gaming too.

A big reason they are awesome for FPS games is their open ear design which gives you a really large soundstage.

I only upgraded to get the Game One version with a boom mic attached

Anyone tried modding these (removing the foam) to make them ~95% an HD 599?

still prefer SHP9500, much more comfortable than Sennheiser's headphone.

How are you getting $70? It shows $79 when I click on that link.
