1tb SATA drives (which perform almost the same for nearly everyone) have recently sold for similar money.

1. People have different workloads. NVME is a significant boost for those who often do large file transfers.
2. DirectStorage is coming and will take advantage of faster SSD performance for gaming.
3. The price difference is insignificant anymore between SATA and NVME.

1. 100%, that's why I had the 'nearly' qualifier, people who do those large transfers probably don't need guidance from the peanut gallery so I feel it's safe to make sure that those on the fence will know that SATA is a solid option.
2. I'm on the 'never buy based on future promises' train. By the time DS APIs are commonplace, better and bigger drives will likely be available. Get the best for your money today- it's going to take years for DS to roll out en masse.
3. Oh boy, ummm... idk about that one, but I suppose it depends where/how you're shopping. I'm seeing ~$55/tb for SATA and ~$90/tb for NVMe lately- with 2tb SATA drives regularly going on sale for ~$80-90.
