For those new to TP-Link Kasa, I will share this. They are extremely easy to set up (with exception of the in wall outlets/switches which requiring wiring. Still easy to do. You do need a neutral wire, not just ground for those to work). I now have at least one of every model, not including the cameras. They flawlessly integrate with my Google Home and rarely have connection issues.
For the power strips (3&6 plug), the outlets can be controlled independently, but the USB ports are always powered. Still waiting for them to change that. Besides that, great for indoor Christmas decorations! Definitely recommend.
Historical pricing shows this was $39.99 around BF so not a bad deal
I have one of these in my entertainment center. Potentially I could use another one, but I have a feeling that prices are going to drop even further, given the industry consensus on the Matter standard--and that this device isn't going to be compatible with it: TP-LInk/Kasa is planning on announcing their Matter compatible line-up in "late Q4 this year."
In general, I'm not going to invest a lot in smart home devices until I can see more of where it's all going... or unless there's a really good deal on devices that work with what I already have. This is an OK deal, if you're impatient. At $20, I would definitely bite, maybe even $30. For now, I can wait.
