Redout is a really well-done modern version of the old wipeout games - like a futuristic racer. Aragami is also a lot of fun.
I was only able to find three games that weren't already in my library but still worth it at under $2 a pop. All of the following games have 70+ on metacritic:

Redout is underrated and that DLC pack is amazingly deep.
Cat quest is a good game, but unfortunately buried in a sea of great games.
God's trigger is like a "reasonably easier but still hard hotline miami." I like hotline miami, but I never get to really 'git gud' at anything these days. Thusly...gone. I really dig it.
Aragami is a good choice also and the second one recently came out.
Shadow Tactics is good too.
For a person that doesn't get / take the opportunity to play video games as much as I'd like to anymore, I agree with you re: Blasphemous. The opening sections aren't very brutal at all; but for an out-of-practice gamer like myself, I did find I was getting my rear handed to me at times as it went on. It didn't turn me off to the game and I enjoy the challenge, but I got more out of it (difficulty-wise) than the typical side-scrolling Castlevanias of yore I went into it expecting. EDIT: Played it on the Switch, fwiw.
I have both blazing chrome and blasphemous. Blazing chrome is contra basically. Great game.
Blasphemous is probably one of the best games I've played in a long time. It's very unforgiving as someone stated already, but the music, the art work, the character design is to die for. Honestly, if i was into tattoos, I would have this games art work all over my body
The combat is extremely satisfying once you get the hang of it. When you start to block parry everything you feel like a God. You will die over and over but you never feel cheated.
Blasphemous is definitely worth the price being asked for here.
