Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I have had this for 2 years now. They did have some drops and slower speeds but that was with the older 4g router. When I got the trash can it was much more stable. My wife and I both work from home and have no issues with VOIP or zoom meetings. I also play XBOX Modern Warfare with no issues. This is of course area based. It is not a portable solution I would depend on like a hot spot. I also ended up getting an external antenna about 6 months ago and now have great signal. We got it for the 50$ a month price and do not have any other Tmobile devices but this makes me reconsider. The best part is if you use it for a month and it does not work well you are only on the hook for the one month of 25$ and you send it back. No contract! For reference we live in North-West Indiana and have only satellite for competition. I have been really impressed with the upload in my area and just ran a speedtest to share here. I got 81.8 down and 79.6 up with a 24ms latency.

I would be interesting purchasing three internet lines and load balance them.
Then I could get 1.5Gbps .

Just signed up a week ago- Not being able to get this discount would be frustrating. But the service is great- Completely replaced my cable internet.

I wonder if the discount would count for a family member on a second HSI line? I have 6 family members on the plan and a few of them have some expensive, slow home internet.

I will return it as it has 14 days no charge return policy and open the new account ... we don't have to tech as your SDer.... LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO

Anyone know the speed of internet for this plan ?
It completely depends on your area. My parents typically get only 5-15mbps and during the day the internet often does not work at all because of congestion and deprioritization.

Thank you. Was the antenna provided by tmobile or something you bought extra and added? Is the antenna generic or a tmobile specific product?

I bought the antenna from Amazon. It was pricey but worth it for us because of the improvement. You can always use it and return if it does not work as well for you.
For reference you can check Amazon for MIMO Panel Antenna Kit by Waveform | +9 dBi Gain | 2x2 600-2700 MHz | for 3G, 4G LTE, 5G Modems, Routers, & Cell Boosters | TS9, SMA, U.FL Adapters (Twin Cable)

until they start turning off the bands your device uses and force you to pay for device upgrade
Since this is a no contract service they will not force you to buy anything. You get a free modem/router to use unlike many wired services that lease you a modem. If you have to upgrade for a fee you simply cancel the service.

Is it $25 per month for life or 50% off per month for life?

There is a difference.

This sucks that existing customers of HSI can't get in on this. I can imagine service will get super congested and slow.
It royally sucks. I'm going to guess this offer only lasts 3 weeks so existing customers can't cancel and get T-Mo Internet again while the promo lasts. Then those people will be left out in the lurch. I sure hope loads of existing $50 Home Internet customers call to let T-Mo what they think of how T-Mo screws their existing loyal customers.

I live near a tower and get good speeds, so this has worked fine for me, but once they load it up every tower with tons of $25 customers, I'll be paying $50 for worse service than before while everyone else gets it for $25. It's a double whammy. I didn't get too upset at the $40 offers ($120 per year savings), but $25 is a $300 savings.

I have a 2nd ISP which I can fall back on for 30 days. Besides assuming T-Mo won't keep this promotion for 30 days (it probably ends 12/31), the other problem is I remember those "free phone" offers with trade-in require that you don't change your service for 2 years. I still have about 6 months left. I bet if I canceled Internet and restarted in 30 days, they would probably ding me some big fees on those phones, You probably have to send your gateway back for 30 days and could get a "worse" gateway when you sign up again. It wasn't that long ago I heard there was a shortage of gateways. Is one gateway better than the other?

I'll be watching here to see if any existing $50 customers find a solution. Will T-Mo be OK having lots of existing customers cancel for 30 days? Someone mentioned using a different address on the same plan. I'll be interested to hear if that works, and if after you cancel your current Internet if you can switch that gateway back to your address saying that family member decided to move in?

I'm pretty mad at T-Mo for shafting early adopters and loyal customers. Maybe it's time for me to look into Verizon Internet, but that probably requires having a phone line with them.
