Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I didnt have any issue except some multi player games had high pings but other than that, in my area, it was good for the money.

This was the most frustrating/crappy internet connection that I have ever had. Customer service was a tragic joke, much like a clown crying. I live in a major city with multiple towers close by.
Lol who uses 5g home internet in a "major city".

T-Mobile billing is terrible. The postpaid service bill comes with ridiculously inflated statement fees. When you try to cancel service, you are forced to pay one extra months service. Things get settled only after the intervention of the bbb. Happened two times for me. Stay away.....

That's entirely not true. Initially, I received around 20mbs down 10 mbs up. That was almost 4 years ago during the pilot program in my area. For a few years now, I have been at 70 down 20 up. Just recently, I swapped to the new modem and installed a 4x4 MIMO antenna, and now I get 600 down and 40 up. And latency is low 20s also. It heavily depends on your area.. I live in the middle of nowhere with nothing but Amish neighbors as a reference, haha.
What's the process to swap modem? Go into Corp. store?

Tried TMHI about a year ago, to start it was amazing, speed tested around midnight and it was 254 up and 64 down! Coming from a 10u 4d cable at the old house. After a few days started the issues: speeds would slow and at time's completely stop. Constantly trying to restart and test and hope things would get better. It didn't, seemed to get worse. I would check my T-Mobile cell phone and speeds and connections were decent at times when my TMHI was down.

Then I realized it was correlated to the rush hour traffic in the morning and evening.
Some research showed TMHI is lower priority than cell phone service and it all made sense because we're decently close to a freeway. Working from home, having a consistent connection was far more important than occasional fast speeds.

This was with the old trash can modem though.. maybe it will be better with more tower upgrades and the new modem.
Worth the try at this price.

Competition is an amazing thing, I hope T-Mobile Verizon google and more get it figured out… would love to leave the cable company in the dust never to return.

Now more of my friends and family are "bundling" their internet with all their other services, cable companies are starting to feel it.

Have 2 line all in one promo.Got this setup by calling without any issue.
However, now I see a new line added to my account with a new phone number. Confusingly, the details of this number say T-Mobile home Internet.

I also don't see the hint discount.Only the auto pay.

t's gonna be a support call day tomorrow , sigh

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking the new line is for the gateway. I'll wait until I'm all setup and see if I need to contact support.

I'm on the all in one plan with insider discount and one plus promo from 2017. I called into order yesterday morning, it was showing the new line (which is the gateway) for $50 with autopay until around 7:00 p.m. when the $25 promo finally appeared. Just waiting for shipping now.

Yes it has a phone number. It also can get messages so I've gotten spam texts on the modem.

Which 4x4 MIMO antenna are you using? Any link? Thanks
