Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Do I need to keep the router original box just in case if I want to return the router in a few year or Can I just return it without the box?

After you setup and have the Gateway activated, use the wiki page on the first page to redeem the $100, will take 6-8 weeks.

Yes, take a looks at the wiki on the first pages. It has the info on how to submit it. All you need to wait for is for the gateway to arrive and activate it. After that you can submit the promo. Use the TMHI line phone number on the first page and on the drop down menu.

Is there a better way to read the text messages sent to the TMHI line other than reading them straight from the gateway's screen?

Got my modem today. It's the Sage with 1.0.16 firmware.

I get 300-400mbps down, 40-50mbps up when connected directly to the router via WiFi in the same room.

I am getting about half that when connected to one of the ethernet ports.

I guess this is a known issue. Hope a firmware update fixes it.

The T-Mobile mobile app to control the router is the biggest piece of feature limited shit I've ever used, though. About the only thing you can do is change the password and SSID.

i got my new black modem, different from grey version 2 modem.
down load speed in anaheim, ca is avg new black modem 90 mb. vs 150mb with version 2 grey modem. upload is now at 40mb instead of 10mbs.

IDK what they changed, but damn. thats a big drop off.

Just received the Gateway today. Brand new gateway with WiFi capability and two ethernet ports. I simply hooked it up to my existing router and everything seems to be working fine. All my streaming devices, kids' tablets, etc. I haven't checked any speeds but things seems to be as good as my Comcast 75MBps. T-Mobile page shows $25 and submitted $100 promo.

Then, called Comcast to cancel the service. They tried to lower the price, but the thing with Comcast is that the "lower price" or promotion only lasts 12 months. Then, every 1 year, I have to call for a different promotion - and every 1 year the price creep up with $10 etc. Finally, I am free of Comcast and I love it. I've been with T-Mobile for my cell phones for 10+ years and when T-Mobile says that they will not raise the price, I believe that.
Agreed. 15 years here with TMobile

Thanks was able to get this deal using my $5/month Watch plan after two chat attempts... My only plan was: T-Mobile Wearable 500MB with separate number TI.

First one said I needed a full voice line no matter what and the second one said they'd try it and see if it would work after I told them that I can place and make calls with just my Galaxy Watch4 without my phone.
How did you get the $5 watch plan?

I signed up for 3 lines and internet last Friday. So far my internet line still doesn't show the promo added. I chatted support and they said I qualified for it, but concerned it's not showing, Anything I can do at this point other than waiting 2- 3 months like Tmobjle is saying to do?

I started the T-Mobile home internet trial 8 days before this promo started. I did not have any voice services with them. I contacted customer service through chat and through Facebook to see how I could qualify for the promotional offer since I was still within my trial period. They stated they if I added a voice line of service to my account then I would qualify for the promo price of $25.00. I asked them what the lowest plan that I could activate on BYOD and still qualify. They stated it was the $20.00 unlimited talk and text plan with no data. I ended up activating the line through chat. When the sim card shipped the line showed up in my account and the future dated price of my home internet plan now shows $25.00 for next month and my phone line shows $20.00 both include taxes. So it saves me $5.00 per month and I have voice line to boot.
is it prepaid $20 plan ?
