Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?

I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.

If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

When I picked up and installed my Arcadyan KVD21(Iam in NYC),I hardly had 60-70 down and 30-40 up...
Bought, received and installed today Nokia Trash Can(first gen) from Ebay for $40...Installed to exactly the same spot...A few people told me before about it...
Now Iam getting 200-300 down and 70-100 up...
Does anybody know,if it will affect my $100 card promotion??? I use the same sim,T-mobile gave me.

No it won't. The promotional card is tied to the internet line being active, not what device you use it on.

No. They said you have to choose either one 50% off home internet and they will remove 20% inside hook up for all the lines on my account or I can keep 20% insider hook up and pay $50 for home internet with discount
fwiw I have the same concern that's why I was hesitant to place the order. If cancelling the high speed internet is not a problem you can just order it online and see if the discount auto applies when t mobile ships the device

Is that the only gateway TMO provides?

Understand that. Do you have any static addresses on your AE? Or is it all DHCP? If it's all DCHP, I'd put the AE in AP mode. The T-Mobile router will still be routing, but the AE will handle the Wi-Fi connections.
I have existing Netgear Orbi mesh router and changed it to AP mode and wired it to T-Mobile router. Problem I am facing is Parental Controls on Orbi does not work in AP mode so I may have to switch it back to Router mode.

What are the benefits to connect existing router in AP mode to T-Mobile router?

I am thinking if we keep existing router in router mode only and just connect it to t-mobile Arcadian router for internet, will it be most seamless way to go?

I did not. I left it as a router. Generally, I connect all my devices to the SSIDs that the Deco supports, and don't connect anything (except the Deco via Ethernet) to the T-Mobile router.
Hey kwadguy, what are the reasons to connect existing router to T-Mobile router in Router Mode v/s AP mode? I am having issue with parental controls on router not working if I change existing Orbi router to AP mode and connect it to T-Mobile router for internet.

If you use excessive data with tmo, everyone here will tell you to F yourself. You slow down the network for the rest of us that just want to use it for regular everyday use. Anyone who goes over data caps can go F themselves. Hope the provider charges you to kingdom come to curb your use.
wait, it has data caps? why are they offering such high speeds when there's data caps? or is that the scam? how is this shit service a deal? this is a terrible deal if there's caps! LMAOLMAOLMAO also, what gives you the right to determine what is excessive?

I don't determine what is excessive. The provider does. And I hope they stick it to those who use a lot of data. Make them pay for their use instead of raising the rates for the rest of us to subsidize their use.

USA is basically the only country in the world where users believe they have a right to no cap. Every other country in the world pays based on usage. Imagine if we could all use unlimited electricity and water and then complain if they made us pay by usage lol.
so basically this so called deal is a scam. they promise unlimited, in writing, but actually have a cap that they hide from unsuspecting consumers. got it.
