Cheapest I see on FB local is $275 (most are over $1k). Considering the hassle of unassembling, transporting, & reassembling, plus the inherent risks of buying someone else's unwanted table, this $300 new with free ship sounds pretty good, even if comparatively low quality.

Not sure where you live that people are begging you to take what they're selling for $1k here.

Regardless, your claim about pool tables in general being an object of inevitable buyers remorse further supports buying a cheap table like this versus the heavy classic style that we typically think of.
When in doubt, look at the 1-3 stars.
For the price, it's certainly only gonna be passable at best.
Many of the reviews mention shipping damage. I bought a 9' shuffleboard table from Walmart last year. While the Walmart CS was good, the freight company they used clearly didn't care one bit amount the product. Box was a disaster; clearly tossed around and walked all over, with zero care. The play surface was completely marred. The Logistics company and the freight company they subcontracted with were never on the same page and it took me nearly a month and a half to get a new table.
don't buy this thinking you're getting a pool table. It's a toy for children at best.
the playfield is ~76 x 38 compared to a full size table 100 x 50 (not that many people want a full size "9-foot" table in their house). the surface is engineered wood which will sag and dent over time.
It's a good price for this kind of product, I just never understood who this was for

Seems like a great price. Anyone own it? A lot of the 5* reviews on Walmart's site seem fake to me. (I work in eComm and they're pretty easy to spot.) Hoping real owners can yay or nay this for a basement game room for a family with young kids.

I'm considering getting it and having a custom cover made for it that would allow it to also function as a card/gaming table since I need one of those down in the basement anyway… price isn't bad at all for a big gaming table that you can also play mini pool on…

It's actually called a 7 foot table, very common for homes as not everyone wants a full size table. Even places like college that have tables tend to use 8 foot tables instead. Just an option.

These tables are fine for the general family and friend gathering. I have a similar one and has lasted 10 plus years if taken cared of.

Not for those serious players of course.

Have you ever gone to a bar and see those smaller pool tables that people play on? Sometimes they take coins and you push them in. They also have smaller pool tables that take tokens at those type of dave & busters gaming places. One doesn't need to drop huge bucks on a fancy full sized pool table in order to have fun. It still takes skill to play very well on it.

Any tips on how to spot fake reviews?

Pool tables become this big object in your home, taking up a lot of space, that nobody plays with. Search for 'pool tables' in FB market place, people begging you to take them away....and for FREE!

I play alot of pool and have a nice 8ft slate table but I still check Facebook fairly often. You can regularly find pool tables for fairly cheap. People move and don't have room for them so they have to sale them quick. I only paid $250 for my brunswick table, $300 for high quality felt (simonis), and $250 to have someone assemble, level and felt it.
Yes that's more then this table but well worth it. It looks beautiful and will last for decades.
