QN90A 65" also available with the 15% off for $933. QN90 is a VA panel for brighter HDR and wider view angle. QN85 is a IPS panel that isn't as bright, weaker contrast, and not as great wide angles.

Both are great TV's, just sharing the difference for $170 more. Can't go wrong with either at this price and being refurbished by Samsung directly with two year warranty.

This read is a great summary on the differences:

The QN85 with the IPS panel has wider viewing angles. The QN90 has decent viewing angles for a VA panel. (Thanks for the Rtings article link.)

That's a pretty badass tv. Not bad. I'm going to keep my $300 50 inch QLED TCL, but I'm envious of anyone that buys this. I wonder how this compares to Chinese brand Mini-LED tvs….

Don't forget VA yields better contrast which translates to blacker blacks during dark room viewing. IPS wins at viewing angles. But the whole viewing angle debacle is so overrated.

Had this tv for a few days and returned. IMO The contrast on this tv is terrible. Shadow detail is very poor. Would definitely get the QN90A over this.

Where did you originally buy the tv from? Tough to imagine anyone allowing a 65" tv return for bad contrast or shadow detail.

I agree based on this article and my new 85" Q60B (yeah I know it's 2022 and the Q60B model but same problems apply). Mine had bad contrast and on a dark scenes all the black areas would glow white. If anyone's debating, go for the QN90A or QN90B for 2021-2022. Any lower model has these issues.

PS don't let Samsung get away with providing poor panels in their TV's.

I have this tv. Pay Rtings no mind as the dummies turned off local dimming then complained about the contrast. There is no option to turn it off so they bought a special remote to do it in the service menu. When I asked why they would do that they never answered back. The contrast y'all complain about is actually the mini-leds doing their thing. The local dimming should stay on standard. Yes its does bloom some but unless you're constantly watching stuff with completely black backgrounds with bright objects it doesn't happen too often. The QN90A does it too. Get the QN90B as they seemed to have tamed it but they say the screen doesn't get as bright though. But with this you don't have to worry about the rainbow effect. The QN90 actually has better viewing angles but you would have to be watching this tv at an extremely odd angle to notice it. This is a good deal for this tv.

I bought it new from Sam's Club. Watching Stranger Things on this tv was a very poor experience. The contrast was noticeably bad compared to the 10 VA panel TVs that I've bought in the past year. That's not to say this is a bad tv, it might fit your use case if you want to watch sports in a wide-seated living room.

I have this TV bought new from Costco near the beginning of this year. Yes, it's IPS but the colors are great and you can watch this in a very bright room. The anti reflective also doesn't smear/scatter.

This TV looks better to me than the 55 X900F VA panel I have in the bedroom.
