I have had one of these for years that I got as a gift.. Sound quality is fine, not amazing. It floats but doesn't sound right when in the water. Sound level is fine in a reasonably quiet environment. I use it in the driveway when washing the car and can hear it fine. I used it as a car stereo in a golf cart on vacation and it was just barely enough volume for that when driving. Hope that helps.

Says you can connect up to 50 speakers at once, so you can have a whole surround sound system setup if you want.

I paid full price for mine and have no regrets. I use them as a compact solution for desktop gaming PC sound. They are perfect for that and will make things rumble on my desk when the bass kicks in. As far as loudness, I've never tested that.

It's not that. Altec speakers were great in the day, and were used for PA systems. This thing is put out by a company that bought the brand and logo. That doesn't mean its bad though.

My friend had an older one that he would bring into work. It was not loud enough for someone twenty feet away to hear music in a kitchen.

My Flip 4 and Flip 6 were at least twice as loud just for comparison.

According to historical reviews, this thing actually sold for ~$50+ a couple of years back - with people actually paying those prices.

I'll give it a shot. Looking for a daily bathroom/shower speaker with decent sound. This should suffice.
