Got it in hand today. Came in an Apple Refurb box. I had to update the software using my Mac due to it being on an older firmware and I had iCloud's advanced date protection on.

Yeap same 20w/adapter as in new boxes. Zero issues so far with the refurb I got.

I wish we could use these with any service. We have multiple amazon, google and now apple speakers and keep forgetting which to speak to!
I bet we are not the only ones.
Of the 3 types we have, so far only Amazon's seem to always work exactly as they are supposed to. But I love google's multiroom via casting as the best feature of all of them.

Can't stand Echoes they are complete garbage compared to these. Barely works, crap sound quality, never does what it is asked.

It's interesting how many people have different experiences with different devices. Not sure why exactly. I do agree the Echo has a worse speaker on their small "dots" but the large Echo is amazing to me. Apple's are great as speakers, but can't do the types of routines I use and whole house audio with chromecast is very tough to make work without going through hoops.
Not sure which I stick with in the end, so for now we have about 15 of various speakers all over.
