So it appear that you need to have 5G phone service with Verizon to get this deal.

Better to stay at Tmobile with cheaper unlimited plan TMobile offers.
I talked to a sales rep. and said I dont need the 5G svc. and she said she can offer me the same plan but without 5G it would be $30 a month with free install & setup. Call them or try over chat.
you can get this same deal without the 5G phone svc. for $30 a month. I just signed up my parents for it.

Oh Ok.They offered me 300MB for 29,99 (down from 39.99). I took that offer.. Gigabit was offered for $69.99 which I declined.

So for folks like me who are existing FiOS and wireless 5G customers - I was on a $64.99/month plan with Gigabit speeds. I chatted for a solid hour with a rep and basically told him I am going to move to Xfinity which is offering me 400Mbps plan for $30/month if they cannot reduce my monthly payment. In the end, he was able to give me a $200 Verizon gift card and switch me to the 300/300Mbps plan for $44.99. I took it because currently I am getting speeds around 200-300Mbps even though I am on a Gigabit plan so it makes no difference to me and I am happy with the current speed. I received an email which said I will be able to redeem the gift card after 65 days in good standing.

FIOS unavailable for me. I only see 5G Home or Home Plus. Let's see if Xfinity and AT&T up their game to compete.
xfiniy is already $25/75Mbps (2 year price) in my area + the xfinity hotspots. and att just dropped a fiber box in my neighborhood. it's good to see the two oligopoly now have to deal with the FIOS competition.

i do wonder if FIOS is anchored to a location or if i can take it with me when traveling (and if it automatically connects like a cellphone)

How is their speed? I want to try and someone said verizon lets you try it? I switched from spectrum to att fiber and its speed and consistency are so much better than spectrum, but not cheap at $65 a month.

I told an ATt rep about verizon's promo and they said verizons speed mayb not be as fast. I am not sure after she said that, since i live in a household of 7.
My 300/300 plan has never gotten less than 310/350 on a speed test.

Similar experiences when I had 100/100 and 200/200. Download is always a bit above and upload is significantly above.

Of course if you're in a densely packed area with lots of people sharing the same fiber it could vary but I haven't heard of anyone ever getting less than advertised.

Not available in my area. Only 5G available, even though I have FIOS through another provider. Western WA
If you have Frontier, it will never be available. They spun/sold off certain areas to Frontier in order to satisfy government regulators, they can never sell Verizon FIOS there (until they figure out a loophole to buy Frontier back anyway).

This is beyond frustrating, I've tried several times and can see the 29.99 price but because I'm buying a house where the current residents have Verizon service they are not allowing me to take advantage of the deal. I have talked to several representatives over two days with no luck. At this point I'm just signing up for the $30 for 400 mbps Xfinity deal in my area. Shouldn't have to go through this many hoops to get an advertised price.
Not sure if you've ever had Xfinity before but you're going to be well versed at jumping through hoops with them. Not saying don't do it just be prepared.

300 is plenty for just about any home situation.

If you want to get the full 300 and not 200-300 look at your router and wireless devices, may need an upgrade or some tweaking. If you plug a computer directly into your router and get full speed then it is your wifi. If still not geting full speed, plug a computer directly into the FIOS ONT box. If you now get full speed then your router needs to be upgraded.

If still not full speed they will need to come out and clean your fiber, possibly move you to a less used node, or replace the ONT.

Huh? FIOS is definitely anchored, unless you have a really long fiber optic cable and want to unscrew a big box from the wall and carry it with you.

I think you're thinking of 5G internet service (via cellular network)?

What they keep saying on the chat is "Supervisor will also not be able to change pricing/promotions for location." when I gave them my address for $30 a month deal.

If you want to save some money drop to the 300M service. Unless you're doing tons of large file sharing etc 300 is plenty for any residential situation.

Yup, that's standard script, yet as soon as I got to the supervisor he said no problem and took $10 off my current bill.

Yeah I've had them, I haven't had too bad of an experience with them over a couple of years (maybe I'm in the minority). My current address only has Spectrum which I've been very happy with but the new place will have both Xfinity and FIOS. I've had both in the past but I can get two unlimited lines and 400 Mbps service for $80 a month plus $75 visa gift card with xfinity, without the promo which Verizon won't give me its $45 just for 300 Mbps Internet. I know the uploads are better but I'm a fairly light user so as much as I tried I'm just moving on!
