i do wonder if FIOS is anchored to a location or if i can take it with me when traveling (and if it automatically connects like a cellphone)
why?
I told an ATt rep about verizon's promo and they said verizons speed mayb not be as fast. I am not sure after she said that, since i live in a household of 7.
Similar experiences when I had 100/100 and 200/200. Download is always a bit above and upload is significantly above.
Of course if you're in a densely packed area with lots of people sharing the same fiber it could vary but I haven't heard of anyone ever getting less than advertised.

If you want to get the full 300 and not 200-300 look at your router and wireless devices, may need an upgrade or some tweaking. If you plug a computer directly into your router and get full speed then it is your wifi. If still not geting full speed, plug a computer directly into the FIOS ONT box. If you now get full speed then your router needs to be upgraded.
If still not full speed they will need to come out and clean your fiber, possibly move you to a less used node, or replace the ONT.

I think you're thinking of 5G internet service (via cellular network)?
