So it appear that you need to have 5G phone service with Verizon to get this deal.

Better to stay at Tmobile with cheaper unlimited plan TMobile offers.
I talked to a sales rep. and said I dont need the 5G svc. and she said she can offer me the same plan but without 5G it would be $30 a month with free install & setup. Call them or try over chat.
you can get this same deal without the 5G phone svc. for $30 a month. I just signed up my parents for it.

ive been checking for fios availability forever. never avilable. im like an hour north of NYC

but they offered me 5g home for the same price and i signed up for it. it's okay for a backup, and will keep it for now since i work from home half the time
Did you try checking online or over the phone/chat?

For the longest time, my unit (and few others around me) showed as Fios not available when I would look online.

One day I decided to call in and the rep confirmed that Fios was indeed available in my unit.

I am tempted to do this since I have Verizon as my carrier. My concern is that I am then 100% dependable on Verizon service. If they have system issues or the towers are down by my house then I will not have any internet. When hurricane Sandy hit, we had home internet but our phones didn't work unless we drove a few miles away.

Thanks everybody for your input here. I have VZW and FIos for many years, I had the 200/200 plan which is same as 300. However I upgaded to 300 and then couple hours later I chatted again and rep was able to find that discount for me and add it.

300/300 now for 29.99$

My assumption is the old plans don't qualify for any loyalty discounts.

I chatted with a rep but he say I need a cell phone service to get the discount. I'm located in Virginia and might give it another shot later this week. I currently have 300/300 plan for $39.99

I would say don't worry about the price lock. Service Speeds seem to be only going up. Years ago, I was offered 200 mb for $40. Now it's 300 mb for $40. So having a 10 year price lock on 300 mb service now probably won't do you any good. It sounds better than it really is.

In 10 years, $30 might end up being the price of the 1 gig service..

I think the most important thing for existing customers is:
1. Tell them you want to cancel your service. Mention you saw the T Mobile Home Internet for $25. Schedule a date and hope for the "real" offer. If they don't give it to you, pick a date a cancelation date a few weeks out so you can call back and cancel the cancel request. Plus you can ask again if they have any offers when you call back in. You could even tell them you want to "think about it" then wait a few days then call again.

2. Make sure to ask/get the $200 gc.

My first attempt. Lmao this agent I got...
This promo is for 30$ 300mb. I'm currently paying 40$ 300mb. The agent verifies my account and offers me 50$ 300mb. I asked if serious and he asks me if I'm a professional.. I asked to transfer to retention. Suddenly the 30$ 300mb offer is now available for me + 200$ gift card. Maybe because I gave him attitude after that bs offer, he felt bad or something. He added a second gift card 50$. I'm in NY area.

Haha, I'm glad you were able to get the deal. Did you called or chatted?

I used chat. If they give you bad offer the first time, just ask for retention. If they still won't match the offer then disconnect and try again.

I know people are getting a great deal for the 300 Mbps service. But was anyone able to get a similar deal for the 1Gig service? If they can give me 1Gig for $59.99, I would jump in a heartbeat.

I am in Boston area on a 200/200 plan (which is same as 300) for $39.99. Chatted with a rep yesterday. She was able to offer 300/300 plan with a $10 FIOS loyalty discount (with no end date) for me (for a total of $29.99 per month). That is the best she could do. She could not give me any GC or router as part of this. She said those are for new accounts only. Oh well. Not sure if I should try again or just forget about it. Saving $10 per month without any change to the plan is not bad. All new accounts require credit check from what I recall. So an unnecessary credit inquiry on your credit report which will stay there for 2 years. So did not go that route. Not worth it for me for $5.

Just out of curiosity why do you need 1GB plan? I have 300/300 for last two years and never felt that my internet speed is limiting me for doing something. All stream apps work great even with 4K. So I was wondering what would be an advantage of going for higher speeds? FWIW she did offer me 1G plan for $69 (with all discounts added) so if you really want that, you might try to get it. I preferred to stay with my current plan and save $10 instead.

I've tried in NOVA for like a week multiple times on chat and call with no luck. One thing I was told was that if you read the fine print your residence can't have had service for the last 18 months, at least that's what a supervisor told me which sucks because I just bought the house and never had Verizon service. They won't budge off if 49.99 for 300 mbps.
