It looks like it has two upfiring speakers.
If it had two upfiring speakers it would be 3.1.2 but this is advertised by Klipsch as only 3.1

Here's a YouTube review of the cinema 600 from someone who really knows: https://youtu.be/a8nY4CVuJ0M
Thanks! This was helpful. Also noticed that the MSRP on this listing is pretty bloated based on the fact that the YT vid has it at $499. Guess inflation since launch?

Seems like a defective product based on Amazon reviews and Rtings; which, had to purchase three models to get the testing done.

"Note: The results in this review represent the third model that we purchased from the manufacturer. For the first bar we tested, the tweeter blew during our stereo dynamics sweeps, though this shouldn't affect most users since these tests are designed to stress the bar. For the second model we purchased, sound played out of the sub but not out of the bar, meaning we couldn't test it."

This is nothing but problems. Had to return mine. Sometimes it doesn't work. It humms. Forget about turning it into a 5.1. That's the worse.

Any suggestions on a good all round sound bar? Got small kids so cannot go crazy with the bass or how loud it gets. Just basic sound bar with small footprint which would made few alone moments watching tv more enjoyable. Is Sonos worth the price and the hype that everyone talks about? TIA

Edit- I don't care for extra subwoofer or separate speakers , already had klipsch RW-12D collecting dust from my past bachelor life in the basement. And I doubt I would ever take that out in foreseeable future. I already have audio engine A5+ speakers but they take too much space and it's only stereo setup.
same boat, bruh. Huge subwoofer in the basement collecting dust.

10" Klipsch woofer v. 6.5" JBL. I have the JBLs. They're light on bass and can add good lows for your shows/movies, but they don't thump as deep and loud as the Klipsch. The Klipsch can shake a house. JBL can only shake a small room.
You must have a different jbl soundbar, cuz the subwoofer is 10". I have it and my neighbors know when Im Watching a movie. The bass for this soundbar is amazingly great. Also I only put my bass half way up and it's more then enough.

Another plus to the Klipsh is that you can add a second powered sub of your choice in case the provided 10 does not knock the nails out quick enough for your taste.

I've noticed Klipsch products that are self-powered are mostly trash. I got the R-28PF, paid 600 dollars and they were great for 6 months and the amp blew out. They sent me a replacement amp, it lasted another 4 months and blew out. I trashed them. Also it had this annoying problem where after they went into standby they would come back and the audio was set to low so you would have to turn them up every single time. I would stick to their passive stuff and not bother with anything they make that is powered in some way.

I took my old LG sound bar hooked it up via optical. Took my new Samsung sound bar hooked it up via earc. A little balancing with the volumes and it sounds amazing. Two sound bars are better than one. Total watts almost 1500.

Yamaha makes a solid stand alone sound bar with built in subwoofer. And has a subwoofer out in case you want to add a subwoofer later. They MSRP for around $200 a couple years ago and I got a refurb for $100 off eBay. May want to check there.

Can't speak too much for the 800's, but I bought the 300's set and returned it. Had some issues with the sub being used while vocals were spoken and made an awful sound while talking. Power cycling seemed to fix it for a moment. Ended up buying the Bose 900 bar and 700 sub for $600. Absolute beast, never looking back.

The Cinema 600 was readily available for $299 in late 2020 when I purchased it.

On the Klipsch site under Soundbars it is interesting to see that the higher up you go in price point and model the lower the ratings / reviews get haha

Cinema 1200 - 3.0 (61) - $999 (sale)
Cinema 800 - 3.8 (56) - $399 (sale)
Cinema 600 - 4.1 (163) - $349 (sale)
Cinema 400 - 4.1 (180) - $329 (no sale)
