Been a customer for about 5 years, and I have found that a lot of outlet stuff are things that might have been "retired" previously. Their pants might have the same name year to year, but the fabric or build might be updated one year, and thus the "2020" style of that pant no longer available. I see some of these "older" style fabrics pop back up during outlet time, that you cannot order any other time. Their 50$ five pocket pants are one of the outlet products that my son likes, and I get a couple of pair when it opens up. Other things might just be seasonal or overstocks. Overall their products have been excellent quality, and they last longer (IMO) than the other brands I would purchase for him.
I will say that they are starting to go away from the "embroidered" logo (or none at all on some products) in place of the vinyl sticker type logo, which worries me because other companies that have started to do that, the quality has dropped completely. On their screen printed shirts, they feel like they are now using a cheaper plastisol, which is stiffer and not nearly as soft or durable as it used to be.

I think I've heard of this brand before? How is the quality? Better than Banana Republic factory?
I haven't ordered from this brand for nearly a decade, but yes better quality than BR Factory for sure and even BR. Last I remember they were comparable in quality (and price) to Brooks Brothers. This info is out of date, ~2014, but FYI.

Browsing some of the sale products, I see this notation:
"Created exclusively for our Outlet Collection: iconic prints, top-quality fabrics and our signature vineyard vines style, all at an amazing value!"
Not sure if this means lesser quality than can be expected from their regular retail products? Just an FYI for those shopping.
Then, every review I read was "Submitted as part of a sweepstakes entry."

This really isn't helpful as they have changed manufacturers numerous times since 2014. Personally I disagree that it's better quality than BR, but BR has gone downhill over the last couple years.
VV is like Abercrombie of GenZ. Quality is fine, nothing special, but you're paying for the brand/logo. Middle schoolers love this stuff.
This seems par for the course for outlet stores. Either old styles brought back, new styles made more cheaply and/or overstock. I bought stuff there pre covid and it held up well (unfortunately, during covid my washer and dryer _might_ have shrunk my clothes cause everything started feeling tighter).
Compared to some of the other outlet type stores (banana republic, which I guess is related to Old Navy/GAP) the quality seemed more in line with Polo/Ralph Lauren.

"exclusively for our Outlet Collection" is a red flag to me and I wouldn't trust the items to be anywhere near the same as the retail store items. Not saying it's bad, but just worse.
No idea what the people are smoking in this thread who are saying VV is equivalent to Abercrombie or worse than Uniqlo/Target house brands. I wear Uniqlo over VV these days for style and value and I think VV is for people who want to LARP as sailboat owners on Martha's Vineyard and almost nobody else, no to mention their fits are the classic Brooks Brothers nonsense where every man has to have a beer belly to fit their tops, but unless the quality has fallen *exponentially* since 2014, their quality in materials, stitching, etc. is way better than those brands. I have clothing from all 4 of the aforementioned brands actually and VV is noticeably thicker and softer in material and more deluxe in its finishes (waistbands, buttons, cuffs, neck cuffs, etc). If the quality *has* gotten worse I wouldn't be surprised because a) that has been happening to everybody and b) VV has dramatically expanded and corporatized in the ~18 years since I started wearing their clothing, which nearly always leads to quality cuts, but again it would have to be drastic for the above claims to be true.
If VV still has their (semi?-)annual 'whale of a sale' clearance in Lawrence, MA or other places it's worth checking out to try their clothing for cheap. I got a bunch of stuff (retail items) for 75% off when I last went in 2014. IIRC the sale starts at like 40% and then gets deeper and deeper throughout the week until everything is gone.
I've ordered from the Outlet site for years. I love these shirts because they are so soft. I wouldn't buy it at the store because they are pretty pricey! There's not one near me anyway. But I love them. I will say that 1 of my shirts now has holes in it under the armpit. I was surprised! I don't wear them THAT much. But it's only the 1 shirt. I hope that helps a lil...

Agree- my middle school and High schoolers think this is "drip".
clothes are decent- but the iron on logos- do start coming off. my son's shorts have lasted a few years, so the quality is pretty good.
