That is pretty disappointing. It's basically a Mini 2 with better low light camera, vertical video, and better battery life. They crippled all the other improvements including the front and back collision avoidance, camera resolution and frame rate.
You can compare against the Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro here. Just change the drones at the top of each column to compare the ones you want
the features of mini 3 aren't that attractive compared to the listed price, especially mini 2 is still around and mini 3 pro doesn't cost much more to get. Drone isn't something everyone must have, so covering all price ranges with minor features difference doesn't make much sense to me as a buyer, I would either go with mini 2 v.s mini 3 pro, or mini 3 pro v.s Air 2S depending on my budget and purpose. Well, this is just my take, I hope this model work for you.

Funny that people always want to pay less for more features, cripple hammer is there for a reason
Right, but in this case they crippled too much to make this a good value imho. Cripple the camera or kill the collision sensors, but not both. For a more entry level drone there's a lot of value in the crash avoidance sensors for beginners. For the price premium over the Mini 2, there just isn't enough improvement to justify the price difference for me. YMMV
Edit, especially when the Mini 3 Pro can be had for under $650 from ebay

As stated by dji, beginners should buy mini 3 pro 😉
Which is really backward. As a beginner, I want a low cost option with good training wheels until I figure out if this is a hobby I'm going to stick with. So recommending a regularly priced $760 or $910 option for a beginner instead of the $450 or $550 options makes no sense unless you don't care about capturing new customers.

For beginners, buy the 2 on eBay. Then get a 3 Pro later.
