Dumbest thing I've read today. It might even beat people using tablets to edit video 🤣

That works out to a bit more than 200GB a day every day for 10 years... Unless you're downloading multiple games a day, you will never reach that limit. Plus that is just the warrantied limit for warranty purposes, it should last much longer than that.

Unless you're using this in a server farm constantly writing data (probably wouldn't be doing that with a consumer SSD anyway), you'll be fine for 10+ years.

Amazing how much prices have come down. I bought two 2TB Samsung 980 Pros for $349 each, $700 total in March 2021. Now under $300 for the same capacity. Quite the deal.

It would work just fine. It's below their recommended specs, but there are plenty of videos from when NVMe drive support was added to the PS5 showing that lower performance 4.0 drives work

Not that you should care as a normal user. You don't get dedicated cache with Crucial P3/P3+. The whole QLC is its own cache working in pseudo-SLC mode. So as the drive fills out your cache area becomes less and less. Again, unless you're doing a full drive copy or are copying large files all the time, you're ok. Avoid filling up the drive up to 85% for the 4TB.

Samsung 980 Pro is a few classes above this drive. This drive is among the lowest class of SSDs, while the Samsung Pro is among the top. But yes, everything electronics through 2021 was overpriced, and now you have the opposite of everything electronics being a little underpriced due to market dynamics.

I saw the 5000 mbs speed and was a little worried. I will go check out some videos online and see from there. Thanks!

What is a "good" price for SSD storage? It seems like a moving target. The price has decreased like 50% in 6 months.

Does the PS5 support HMB? I would be surprised if it did. Without that, the performance will suffer quite a bit under real world workloads.

I personally would stay away from this drive for PS5 usage.

800TBW for 4TB is garbage won't last long in PS5 with updates and game installs.
