I own the HF one and it works fine for occasional drywall use. Its quite sturdy and easy to use once you get it assembled. The only part thats sketchy is the cable reel can easily catch hair/clothes/fingers if you aren't paying attention. It also breaks down into 5 pieces for easy storage: base/tripod legs, main arm w/reel, 2x crossbars & the main bar.

Bought one off FB for $100. Used it for a summer to finish a basement. Sold it for $100 on FB. They are fine for at home use. Like mentioned keep your fingers back. Paying $50 for a weekend is ok, but I was working weekends and needed more time and got my money back.

I get your point, but this one has 4.6 stars out of 162 reviews. It's hard to justify those to do a garage or similar job if this got decent reviews..

Either buy a hard hat with this or do your physical well being a favor and get the Panellift 439 or 125.

Can you elaborate? I'm redoing my basement and was about to pull the trigger on this.

If you are only doing one job, I would rent from Menards or Lowe's. I had a weekend rental for less than $50 and it was a heavy duty lift.

I helped someone who bought one of these. I hate to say it but its a POS, renting is a good idea.

Agreed, renting isn't always the best when projects tend to work out over weeks, months, hell even years. Bought one for a little more than this a year ago, still sitting in my unfinished basement. Plan is to use then sell.

I'll just add that the main benefit of these is really speed. If you're doing ceiling drywall over time, you can do it by yourself without a lift. Plenty of YouTube videos with details but I've done several houses myself with just wood blocks. I have used a lift before and it works but is not really necessary.
