I'm torn whether this is a better deal or not than the previous buy $30 GC, get a free bowl. Bowls are almost $9 in my area, but they're the worst value in terms of portion for the price; spending $1.50 more on a plate gets you twice the amount of food.

Also, there is a small arbitrage opportunity if you swap these for another gift card on an exchange site. Panda GCs can trade for Hotels.com at 86.6%, so if you buy $100 of Panda cards for $80, you can get $86.58 to Hotels.com. But given how those sites keep reducing their guarantee period, I'd only do that if you have upcoming travel and plan to book immediately.
I had such an issue with Panda Express gift cards. They have Panda expresses in airports and some universities, and you can't use these gift cards at those locations. What? It's a gift card. It's not a coupon or anything special.

The panda Express in the pavilions grocery store near me doesn't allow gift cards... Only time I've walked out of a place after they prepared my meal tbh cause there were no signs up.

Not bad, discounted Panda Express gift cards are harder to find than those for other restaurants. For me its better than a free item promo which usually has a limited window to use.
I hope these come with a barcode, so many times I've bought Panda GC with no barcode and they are a pain to use in-store. I avoid online orders are you always seem to get less food

The free bowl is a decent deal, because it covers premium items and tax! But I agree that plates(or even better, bigger plates) are the better bargain.

A shitty multi million dollar company that begs customers for donation with each and every sale, only to get all the tax credit at the end of the year. They never disclose their taxes and or financials. Stale food, small portion sizes, pain in the ass to use GC's make this a pure shitty deal, inside and out. Dont support such companies. Stay away.
Should probably look at almost every other company out there too

Super annoying that they always ask for your change

All over this deal though. I still eat there all the time. Bigger plate 3x grilled chicken with super greens side. Can't beat it

These gift cards are based on California laws, which forbid the expiration of gift cards. You can redeem gift cards in cash if they are <$10 as well.

No choice now, the $30 GC with free bowl deal is dead

Airport food like that is not actually a typical franchise, it's operated by another company effectively licensing the brand

I feel like a weak sauce slickdealer for not having though of trying the premium item bowl with the promo… thanks for that tidbit- otherwise i agree with sentiment that from a value standpoint the bowl is the worst and I'd rather get the discounted gc and combine with the 2 item plate and survey +1 item(they transitioned to online codes that have use by code date- haven't gotten it to work online via app but it's honored in person). Anyone have those survey codes process correctly on an online order(?)

Like Starbucks. Some won't accept Starbucks cards.
