This is a great deal, although it was replaced by the 1040. Biggest differences are longer battery life and better touchscreen support. (and there's bunch of other changes too)

Thanks OP. Pulled the trigger on this as I missed the last FP deal. I am upgrading from a Garmin 500, so this is a big jump in functionality (maps), among other things.

This is indeed a fantastic deal, if you're just jumping into a dedicated head unit it's a no brainer. For me, as I am upgrading, I'm going to wait for a deal on the 1040, but if I didn't already have an Edge I wouldn't think twice about this, considering what it comes with.

It's a good deal, but I already have the standard (non plus) 1030, so I don't think it would be a huge upgrade.

I have this computer and love it. Paid a lot more. It's the best thing going (short of the $600+ 1040) if you want lots of features and good nav.

Bought it last time the bundle deal came up. Very happy with the device, the large screen and touch ability help a lot with winter riding. I already have the 530 Edge, but this is a much nicer device. Also got the heart rate sensor, speed and cadence sensors for more serious rides I'll be doing for the triathlon next year.

My only complaint is when the computer is on the out-front mount, it will block the front light with its massive size, so I had to go the the less secure trap mount. If you have the front light mounted on the handlebar like the Cygolite ones, you may have to look into an under mount solution for this Garmin device.

Good deal.
Paid same for the 830 @ same sensor package.
Wish there was a HD-like hack to automatically get refunded for returning the sensors 😀

This is the 3rd time SD posted this deal for the 1030 plus for the past 1.5 months. I resisted but the universe is telling me to pull the trigger. Thanks OP.

This is a great deal! If I had not just upgraded my 530 to the 1040, I would jump on this.

If anyone is interested though in the 1040, the 1040 or 1040 bundle can be had at WesternBikeWorks/BikeTiresDirect/TriSports (it's all the same company, Velotech) for $497.99 or $580.99 respectively w/ free shipping. Not bad considering it's the latest model and they are "not supposed to be discounted"!

1040 solar or bust. Until then, this is the one for me.

Worth the upgrade from 530 plus as a casual rider? Seems like a really good deal, but unsure if it's worth it from I currently have.
