Update: Bostonyankee's suggestion about account managers (on page 6 of this discussion) worked for me.
My 12 month required service with Verizon(for previous gift card promotion) is ending soon. Probably won't stay with verizon just for this promotion. But if you're with verizon anyway, this seems to be a great deal.

Netflix is free until 12/14/23, which it then turns to monthly for $19.99/month. The Verizon subscription page says "If you unsubscribe now, you can still access your subscription until December 14, 2023." It will also not cancel the NFL+ Premium (if you care about that).
So it looks like you can immediately unsubscribe from Netflix, get it for a year, and not have to worry about getting billed next year.

I've missed out on so many Netflix deals because I'd lose being able to pay with discounted iTunes gift cards, but this is a hell of a deal. Plus, it gives the Premium Netflix plan, which is an upgrade over the Standard plan I've had.
Feeling pretty good about switching to Verizon right now
My wife is going to beat me up she loses her "my list" I think...
1. Try going into Account Management when logged in as the Account Owner (the login that doesn't let the promotion go through).
2. Add an Account Manager and associate them with one of the remaining phone numbers on the account. If you already have an Account Manager set up like this (with # and email), just use that login in step 4.
3. Sign out of the Verizon site
4. Sign in as the Account Manager, not the Account Owner.
5. While signed in as the Account Manager, go to plusplay.verizon.com and try the steps to activate the offer you want.
6. Profit!

so with the netflix, we need to cancel where after 1yr ?
