I picked this up in June 2021 and it has been plugged in continuously for ~18 months now and I have had no issues. I use this as an additional game drive and have seen no noticeable difference vs. my internal Samsung NVMe drives. On Windows 10, my typical speed test results are around 900MB/s.

Love these.

Use one to hold all my steam games, so that I don't have to redownload them, when I want to switch computers… Works with Steam Deck too!

I've had the 1TB on my PS5 for a year. At first I had issues with it becoming "corrupted" and having to run a check after sleep or shutdown. I think moving it to the front USB-C port fixed that and maybe changing a setting to always supply power to the drive, I forget now. Also, the initial transfer of PS4 games to it got really slow and the drive got very hot. After that though, any single PS4 games that I install to it go quickly and run perfectly.

I don't even see much difference using a regular external hard drive for gaming besides a slightly longer boot time.

Everything can be taken apart. Based on it's narrow look, I'd venture to guess it's just a little M.2 adapter and 2TB M.2 drive attached to it.

Basically, it is an Intel 660p from my research. I had the same thought, but that drive is essentially the same price with full warranty on its own.
