The internals of the Z50 are a mix of a D7500 and the Z5/6.
You'll get much better AF. Better than the D7500 I had before.
The sensor is a bit newer version of the 20.9 in the D7500. With a bit bigger pixels than in the 24 Nikon sensors. A bit better low light and dynamic range.
You get full 4k video. All in a small body.
Much easier to travel with, or walk around. Which was my main objective. With the FTZ, you can use all the lenses you have, at full functionality, that is why i stayed Nikon DX and didn't go Sony or Canon. The FTZ is used with warranty $139 from mpb.
Hope that helps.

tl/dr: Z5 is a full-frame camera with in-body image stabilization. Z50 has a smaller APS-C (cropped) sensor. The Z5 is a superior camera which will get you better image quality and low light performance.

The Lumix s5 a better low light camera than the z5?
Thanks

I think the real deals in this post are the Z50 and the Z6 for $999 (looks dead, price is back to $1999).

z50 = crop sensor but great for vlogging
z5 = great for beginners, great all around body.
z6ii = the best for video and sports (In this bunch, z9 is the best of the best)
z7ii = best for those who want to print stuff
All of the lenses are top notch EXCEPT the 24-50. Worst z mount lens created. Get a used 24-70/f4 or buy a 24-120/f4 if you want the extra reach. Best bang for the buck when it comes to lenses. Used 24-70/f4 goes for about $325. The 24-50 sells for around $150 on the used market and take a long time to sell, avoid that lens.

Pics/Video, both?
What kind of pics? Lots of movement, landscape, wildlife etc?
Do you want to learn manual mode where you control the picture outcome, vs the algorythm Auto mode or a smart phone creates for you? In my opinion that is the real reason to spend money on camera and lens system like this or the others.
Do you plan to buy a lot of lenses later? Nikon doesn't offer much for this body unless you are ok with using and FTZ apaptor.
You can learn photography cheaply with a used Nikon D3xxx body, Sony A6xxx or Canon and later get a better body and keep the lenses. That is why I bought this model. I had a lot of lenses that will fit it with an adaptor.
