Get the base if using on a deck or really anything other than hardscape that you care about.

A few other suggestions:
Handle on clearance at REI and makes it infinitely easier to move this thing around and get in and out of bag. Works fine for Ranger 2.0. $16.93 with free ship to store:

Instead of overpriced Solo lid, this works fine for smothering the fire, fits perfectly and looks like it could be part of the set. It even keeps water out.

I live in Houston — terrible for mosquitoes in the backyard. Recently bought the solo bonfire and no issues at all with mosquitoes. I think any fire pit would do the trick, but the least bit of smoke sends all the mosquitoes away. We can actually use our backyard now.

I should add that most people will give away the $50 coupon free. They must get a referral bonus or something.

They do. They get $25 in store credit. For any post on FB marketplace concerning the code, ignore the price and just read the description. Most people have just posed the link to their referral code there.

where do you see this? i see the essential bundle for 320. amex is 50 off and the other coupon is 50 off? thats 220 before tax.

Then I realized the coupon drops me under $300. ha

Tbf the temp was very cold last week. No insect would thrive below 50F. Did you use it in summer?
