You can do more than just repair clothes, you can also modify them. That and gear. I replaced elastic webbing on old pads that have lost their elasticity. I think I spent about $100 on my sewing machine and I recouped the cost within the first month of using it.

I don't use it all that often though, I save up projects until I have a pile of them and then I get them all done at once. I I have to rewatch the video on how to thread the machine, but the rest comes back pretty easily

What was the price tracking app for Walmart? I know Amazon is camel, but forgot the Walmart one.

Can it restitch the bottom of jeans legs? If yes, then it would be a worthwhile investment. I have favorite jeans where the bottoms are frayed.

Hard to say because if you want to hem a jeans that's 3 layers of denim, might be too thick for this portable machine

I work in sewing machine sales. I'm not familiar with this particular model but looking at the machine I'd say it's not your best bet for doing jeans.
