This isn't slick, because the previous s series went for much lower and they're basically the same. for example s15 larger driver set went for $140 as late as 2021.

This should be around $90-120 if we're talking SLICK. I know we don't have a time machine, but them the breaks.

I don't know we'll see those prices, but it should be less than $150 for the pair for a good price. I bought the s15 refurb ones from Polk for $159 for the pair several months back.
The only difference between the elite and previous is the certification as far as stats show. But yes, $99 would be the regular price a year or two ago.

I bought 2 pairs of the s10s several years ago for use as overhead atmos speakers. With their 1/4" threaded insert, it makes ceiling mounting possible with cheap ceiling or wall mounts.

Good alternative to cutting big holes in your ceiling for in-ceiling speakers and cheaper than SVS elevation speakers for nearly the same purpose.

IMO, they sound great for this purpose and keep up with my much "higher end" front speakers. I had Polk OWM3s before these but these sound much better. Actually, I started with the Pioneer T22a "bouncing" speakers but those did not produce the desired effect.

This is the line of speakers wirecutter recommends for home theater setups.

Also, one of the few "retail" speakers that Audio Science Review recommends https://www.audiosciencereview.co...iew.15437/

Because of space, wall mount, and wife constraints I built a 5.1 setup with 5 of these and a sub. Sounds good to me. Obviously 4 inch woofers won't do base, but they get low enough to set a reasonable crossover.

This seems to be the sale price that happens once every 1-2 months. I missed the last sale mostly recently like 2-3 weeks ago and now it's back again.
