Usually the hot deals i've seen on this cooker has been $10 more at 79.99. So $69.99 seems like a hot deal. I recently got a Zojirushi NS-LGC05XB Micom Rice Cooker (3-cup) for black friday and was totally disappointed (it will be going back to Amazon). First i thought all Zojirushi rice cookers were made in Japan. Nope this was made in China. It wouldn't be that big of a deal just as long as it cooked perfect rice but it doesn't. Long grain rice turned out wet. I shouldn't have be be messing with water quantity for a microm style rice cooker. I have an really old microm style rice cooker made by Sanyo. It makes perfect white rice the issue is its to big. The minimum amount of rice i can make is 2 cups dry. 99% of the time that is way to much. I liked Zojirushi size better but the job of a rice cooker for me, beyond anything else, is to make perfect white rice without having to play with it. I to wish the tiger was smaller but at least i can make 1 cup of white rice.

I have this and bought it a few weeks ago at this price at Costco. It's excellent and I highly recommend it. I wish I would have gotten it years ago.

If your rice is still wet then increase the number of minutes it cooks each time until its at your preferred consistency. It will still make it perfect each time.

Don't blame the error on the machine, blame it on the user that did not read the manual.

Or just Google it: https://www.zojirushi.com/grains/nszcc18.html

Same price in store too. Last time around, it was $10 cheaper in store vs online w/ free shipping. Kind of off, but decided I'd come home and watch some youtube reviews of it first and then just order it online.

so you liked the reviews and already ordered it? My Zojirushi [Japan] just died just a week before 1 year warranty [sister can't find receipt! ], clock from internal battery still working, but no response from any button presses. Wondering if there is some sort of reset procedure other than repluging the power cable

No, I actually ended up watching other things instead, but my Chinese buddy (parents/grandparents ran restaurant) and his wife, who's from China told me to get this one last time it was on sale, so I assume it's very close to being on par with the Zojirushi brand.

OK these are micron style rice cookers. You "should" not have to do this. That is the whole concept the cooker has a microcontroller that senses everything and cooks your rice perfectly. If i had to mess with it then its definitely not worth the price (especially considering this is the most expensive brand out there). I received the tiger rice cooker and have used it twice. All i have to do is use the provide rice cup and fill the water to the appropriate line on the pot and it made, what i would consider, perfect rice. I used the same rice in both of these, member mark long grain rice (sams club). Its not perfect and i prefer the slightly smaller unit the job of one of these micron style rice cookers is #1 to make perfect rice and it does that.
