Bought this yesterday. Ran videos today and a few Cinebench 20 runs. Got 7 hours out of it. Is there some secret to getting longer run times out of the battery? Fan and power settings on Battery efficiency settings.

I got this laptop 9 days ago and it does have great battery life for internet use only. I have streamed some youtube videos and have easily gotten over 10 hours on the third charge.

I got the gram like 3 or 4 yrs ago. Other than 1 button falling off this thing still runs excellent. Even that one had an excellent battery life. I'd totally get another gram if I needed one in the future.

You will not get more than 7 hrs if you run cpu intensive programs like cinebench.

How about the ventilation? All the reviews on costco talked about bad vents. Itchy to get one.

I have one of the original 16" Grams and I love it. No issues with heat as it ventilates out the back. Bought this one off Costco a week ago and was extremely disappointed with the heat situation. Vents are now on the bottom and the fan runs constantly which kills the battery. Even for the improvements it has, that's a total deal killer so I returned it. After researching a bit more, it seems the new i7 Intel chips tend to run hot so they aren't a good fit for the ultrabooks. I think the LG design was out of necessity to control heat. So I'll be looking to source an AMD based machine in the future.
