Great way to buy a Series X or Surface for an additional 20% off. Unfortunately that's about it though as MS store has basically stopped selling computers from the other OEMs 😔
Max out Xbox live to 3 years then do the $1 game pass trial which will convert your XBL to game pass. Just make sure it's still possible before doing it though.
Buy as much Xbox Live as you can before converting. The limit is 36 months. So my advice would be to buy 36 months of Xbox Gold and wait for his current Gold to expire.

Start fresh with 36 months of Gold and then convert to GPU (Game Pass Ultimate) for $1.

You can find the 12 month Gold cards online for around $50 if you know where to look. All in all you can get 3 years of Gamepass for $151.

The rumor in gaming circles is Microsoft is going to put an end to this conversion trick sometime in 2023 so I'd get it done ASAP. Probably later in 2023 but nobody really knows. My current GPU sub expires in April so I'm hoping this trick will still work then.

I just bought the 4 pack of Xbox cards two days ago in store. Was base price of $89.99 and just figured they weren't doing the deal this year 🤷

In years past I remember this deal going live much earlier than a few days before Christmas.

Would they simply adjust the price on my prior purchase if I went in store?

I assume they have no physical cards in store, and the limit 2 here for digital is not bypassed by seperate transactions? Can other household member buy 2 as well?

Great deal to use at the MS store. They still sell monitors and other peripherals.

I was inside a Costco recently and they had a lot of physical cards. At that time I believe they were $90.

A couple months ago I needed 3 cards. I was limited to 2 online, but my wife was also able to buy 2.

Sure! You could just give them the cards which could be used to purchase the Gamepass through the website or on the Xbox itself. The other option would be to activate the codes yourself and purchase the Gamepass Subscription as a gift. From Microsoft: "To give a subscription, choose "Buy as gift" when adding it to your cart, and you'll be on your way to achieving legendary gift-giving status."

Absolutely will. They will adjust the price on any items purchased within 30 days before sale price drop.

Have they completely stopped or just out of stock for now?

My son is looking at getting the Xbox gaming pass. He only uses Xbox live currently. What is the best strategy to convert to gaming pass. His Xbox live is about to expire. I'd like to get a year or more vs just a month or two. Thanks!
