That post refers to how Slickdeals sometimes embellishes the value to say these are $150 headphones in this post, for example. It's true, if you go by only this post it's misleading and you think you're getting a truly exceptional deal when in actuality it's meh.

I remember years ago when anything appeared on front page, you just bought now and think later because they were all genuine bargains to meet the threshold for being front page worthy. Not anymore.

Can't comment on the sound really as I haven't used them but it seems reviewers give it about 4/5. What bothers me though is that (according to reviewers) there is a shockingly loud beep when it connects/disconnects and on notifications. That in itself spoils the deal for me even if the sound is excellent.

I have the AKG Y50's and rarely use them. They sound great, but just aren't loud enough.

The same reason they have Bluetooth 4.2. The headphones were issued several years ago. But this is AKG. They are better than any 'no name' headphones from Amazon for the same price.

YES! I got a pair of the Y400 a few months ago for my month to watch tv and she loves them! She likes how when you take them off, whatever you are watching or listening to pauses. Glad i'm able to get a pair for myself of the newer model for the same price1

Cuz they are from 2018.... Not the future 2023 you think they come from.

I'd be way more irritated they only have BT 4.2 and don't even atp-x to make up for that version.

This deal is the same as last year when they were already outdated tech. AKG usually delivers good sound quality, but these are just too old. On the plus side, at least they have the same price as last year, which given the huge inflation is almost a marvel.

I purchased a pair this past May for the same price and I really like them. They definitely feel like a premium pair of headphones. Some pros for me:

-I like that they came with a case and can be used wired or wireless.
-They are quite comfortable for an on-ear pair, and have some "smart" features such as pausing automatically when you remove them from your head.
-great quality for phone calls

Yes, they aren't the newest tech, but this is a very solid pair of headphones, especially at this price point.
