Wow. Sad to see everyone hating on this game. It really is well done. Maybe a few of these negative commenters should share details on why it's a bad game from first-hand experience...they probably can't. I've played it on PS5, so I can't speak for the Switch version specifically, but here's what I can say:
There are so many fine details in design, graphics, building tracks/rooms, and gameplay. When I first heard about this game I just rolled my eyes and thought it was a kids/free game. But after hands-on for several hours I literally said to myself "I can't believe this isn't a $60/70 title." They really took their time and paid attention to details such as making every car's underside (and all other details) true to the original Hot Wheels car. Not true to the real-life car, but true to the one that came from the package. Who does that for a detail you might see a couple of times for 1-2 seconds when you crash?
If you ever played with Hot Wheels as a kid, seriously, give this a chance. I'm 33 and never thought I'd even consider playing a Hot Wheels game after the age of 12, but it really does a great job of bringing that nostalgia and experience you had as a kid to life. And yes, there are microtransactions, but they are not predatory or mandatory in any way. You can easily bypass 100% of them. I despise MTXs, but considering the amount of effort that went into the game and it wasn't a $60/70 title, I'm fine with them making a little off the whales if they want to be foolish with their money.
And I know...IGN will give literally almost anything a 7 or 8. But they decided a 9 was in order. Even on Steam it has an 81% score all-time and 90% recently. Here's the link to IGN's review. Bottom line: try it!

Awesome quick pick up game that is a better version of forza hot wheels. There is boatloads of content (50) separate courses. I played and beat it on PS5 when it was $20. My only concern is how the switch can handle the graphics when you boost, the game speed is fast..if switch slows it down.. could make it not so good.

I've played both and boy are you wrong here.... This is a much simpler game in terms of controls and depth, but much more difficult than Forza and that's what made me return it when I bought it on steam.
Don't just take my word for it, look at the comments above me
I love this game on PC. It's not the same as playing with actual Hot Wheels, but you can build tracks using different Hot Wheels sets and properties like the dinosaur start and the big spider that sits over the track. You can also collect different Hot Wheels cars either through playing the game or microtransactions. It's a great way to have most of the fun of Hot Wheels without leaving your living room a mess of things that really hurt to step on.
It is a fun game, but it is harder than it should be at the lowest difficulty. I can breeze through it just fine, but for kids (main reason for getting it) they all struggled. Even kids that did okay with Forza Horizon struggled. The microtransactions are plentiful, but if you can progress through the game with wins not necessary.
