Hello, I hope you're well.

Tesla is offering certain customers a $7,500 discount and 10,000 Supercharger credits if they take delivery of a Model 3 or Model Y by 12/31/2022. Check your text message; here is an example.

Yesterday, I posted about how the Model 3 RWD and Model Y will qualify for the full Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) $7,500 if you take delivery in January or February 2023 (of course, if Tesla runs promotions or drop prices in early 2023, there could be better savings then). This is better in several major ways:
  • Lower sales tax because this is a discount, not a tax credit
  • You get the discount immediately, instead of having to wait until 2024 when you file taxes for 2023
  • You get 10,000 Supercharger credits, which is valued at between $500 and $900
  • If you're financing, you don't have to pay interest on the $7,500
  • (For some people) If you didn't qualify for the tax credit due to being over the income limit, you don't have to worry about that at all
  • 12/29/2022 UPDATE: IRS published its list [irs.gov], and some vehicles will not qualify for the tax credit that starts in 2023; of note, Model Y 5-Seat does not qualify because it passes the $55,000 limit, whereas the Model Y 7-Seat does qualify because it is below the $80,000 limit.
  • 01/04/2022 UPDATE: The 10,000 Supercharger miles (which is actually 4,000 kWH) have been added to the Tesla App. Check Settings > Loot Box.
Author's Note: This is a deal thread, not a political thread or a thread for people who dislike Tesla. Please refrain from going off topic or thumbing down this thread. You have every right to hate Tesla and its CEO, but please don't thumb down a thread related to Tesla simply because of that. Slickdeals is a deal-hunting forum above all else, and I'd greatly appreciate it if we treat threads in Hot Deals as deal threads and nothing else. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Another owner, my sister, who has a X and a Y, told me you can return within 3 days. Not sure if it's completely true but I was ready either way.
Even if they do let you "return" it, Tesla prolly gonna to do everything in their power to not let you take delivery of the same/another car before Dec 31, just out of spite.

This is a high ticket affiliate marketing link. It is currently inactive. This is what I received, which doesn't put the deal in question, it puts the poster in question by using this platform:

We're Skimlinks — the content-to-commerce platform that helps publishers monetize their editorial content through automated affiliate marketing. This URL is part of our system for affiliating links in editorial content.

I would use caution with this deal post. You can go direct to Tesla and see this deal.

There is no guarantee that custom order will be delivered in December. Customer service confirmed the same. Please try to order from existing inventory

Base Model 3 can still be ordered for December delivery in CA. $39,490 is an amazing price for what your getting. Decent range, solid driving dynamics/performance, improvements via software updates, supercharging network and 10,000 free supercharging miles, autopilot and low operating costs.

Have had a launch LR 3 and a P100D X which was just replaced with a Plaid X. The 3 is a great daily driver and the new base models are an amazing bang for the buck.

when custom order, $7500 does not show up in the payment summary page.

Wow did they raise their prices exponentially? I test drove the model Y two years ago and was on the fence on buying it. Now the prices are over the roof!!
Wait until you find out what happened to the housing market over the past 2 years also. LMAO

I attempt the model 3 customer order but in the financing tab on Tesla App I couldn't find the $7500 credit you referred. Could you please post a screenshot with the 7500 credit so I can follow the same proper route. Thanks!

Most likely this will be standard price in few months ! If economy get worse, prices could fall further. EV tax credits are permanent if you qualify for one. Unless you urgently need an EV car, best to avoid.
im waiting for 2023 Prius but it won't come until second half of year to again it will be 30% over MSRP. With dealer markups.

You need to select existing inventory not custom orde. Depending upon your zip code, most likely existing inventory is sold out. And if you take delivery of custom order by eoy, u will get discount . Call Tesla rep. Not online,

Model Y is a taller vehicle, with a taller driving position. Lots more room in the trunk which is a hatch vs. a traditional trunk on the 3. Front and rear passenger room is identical to a Model 3.

Tesla doesn't have direct financing, but if you order, you'll be prompted to use the app to complete the purchase, and there is a path to have them automatically find you financing directly after inputing your info. They gave me 5.34% for 60 months via Wells Fargo, but you can pay any traditional way like a normal car dealership.
Thanks a lot for that information. That's what I was looking for. I now have a baseline to compare financing. 5.34% seems to be on the lower end right now, but I'll start looking a bit deeper. I can't help but wonder if they'll raise that discount to $10K. I'll have to jump then. But if that were to happen, it wouldn't happen till next year.
Thanks a lot for that information. Helped a bunch.
